Quel est l'impact des stratégies d'acculturation des migrantes sur différentes attitudes sociales (attitudes liées au genre, orientation à la dominance sociale – ODS, sympathie à leur égard) en pays d'accueil et en pays d'origine ? Pour répondre à cette question, un dispositif quasi expérimental identique a été mis en place en France, en tant que pays d'accueil, et en Roumanie, en tant que pays d'origine. Le portrait d'une migrante dont la stratégie d'acculturation se caractérisait par l'intégration, l'assimilation, la séparation ou la marginalisation était présenté aux participants dont on mesurait ensuite le sexisme (bienveillant et hostile), l'ODS et le degré d'appréciation de la migrante. Une condition contrôle était introduite pour mesurer ces attitudes sans présentation préalable de portrait. En France, la migrante était plus favorable- ment perçue en cas d'intégration que dans les trois autres conditions tandis que l'assimilation renforçait l'ODS. En Roumanie, la migrante était perçue plus favorablement et le sexisme bienveillant plus faible lorsque la culture d'origine était maintenue. Les stratégies des migrantes étant fortement dépendantes des politiques des pays d'accueil, ces résultats confortent l'impact positif attendu du déploiement de poli- tiques favorisant l'intégration des migrantes, sur leur acceptation, sur les rapports entre communautés d'accueil et d'origine mais aussi sur les rapports sociaux de sexe. Cette étude apporte deux contributions principales à la littérature: 1/ elle fournit des informations sur l'impact des stratégies d'acculturation des migrantes sur les rapports sociaux de sexe et sur l'ODS, 2/ elle documente cet impact en pays d'accueil et en pays d'origine. Studied the effects of female migrants' acculturation strategies on affective evaluation, sexism and social dominance orientation –SDO in France, as a host country, and Romania, as a home country. The same quasi- experimental design was used in both countries: the description of an integrated, assimilated, separated or marginalized female migrant was introduced to participants and then benevolent and hostile sexism, SDO and the degree of acceptance of the migrant were assessed. A control condition was introduced for assessing these attitudes without migrant description. In France, the female migrant was perceived more positively in the integration condition than in the three other ones while assimilation increased SDO. In Romania, the female migrant was perceived more positively and the benevolent sexism was lower when the home culture was maintained than when it was not. Considering that female migrants strategies depend on the acculturation policies of host countries, these results highlight the role of integration policies for improving female migrants' acceptation, relations between communities and relations between genders. This study contributes to the extant literature through two main innovations: 1/it provides information on the influence of female migrants' acculturation strategies on gender relations and SDO, and 2/it docu- ments this influence in a host and a home country using a similar procedure.

The way politicians talk about minorities institutes the normative context of intergroup relations. We investigated how endorsement of different political discourses predicts donation and collective action intentions by majority members toward the Roma in five European countries. The survey was conducted online using samples demographically similar to the populations of Hungary, Slovakia, Romania, France, and Ireland (N = 5,054). First, results showed that accepting paternalistic discourse versus discourse promoting allyship were not distinguishable; both promoted higher moral inclusion which in turn predicted higher prosocial intentions. Second, donations (i.e., immediate relief) and collective action (i.e., social change action) were driven by identical factors. Third, acceptance of openly hostile political discourse neither predicted moral exclusion, nor lower prosocial intentions. In summary, our research provides important evidence that when it comes to Roma—non‐Roma relations, the previously established distinction between solidarity intentions that aim to solidify status relations versus bring about social change is completely blurred, presumably because of the social context in which any positive message communicates moral inclusion challenging the hostile status quo.

The worldwide spread of a new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) since December 2019 has posed a severe threat to individuals' well-being. While the world at large is waiting that the released vaccines immunize most citizens, public health experts suggest that, in the meantime, it is only through behavior change that the spread of COVID-19 can be controlled. Importantly, the required behaviors are aimed not only at safeguarding one's own health. Instead, individuals are asked to adapt their behaviors to protect the community at large. This raises the question of which social concerns and moral principles make people willing to do so. We considered in 23 countries (N = 6948) individuals' willingness to engage in prescribed and discretionary behaviors, as well as country-level and individual-level factors that might drive such behavioral intentions. Results from multilevel multiple regressions, with country as the nesting variable, showed that publicized number of infections were not significantly related to individual intentions to comply with the prescribed measures and intentions to engage in discretionary prosocial behaviors. Instead, psychological differences in terms of trust in government, citizens, and in particular toward science predicted individuals' behavioral intentions across countries. The more people endorsed moral principles of fairness and care (vs. loyalty and authority), the more they were inclined to report trust in science, which, in turn, statistically predicted prescribed and discretionary behavioral intentions. Results have implications for the type of intervention and public communication strategies that should be most effective to induce the behavioral changes that are needed to control the COVID-19 outbreak.
