Resumo A Avaliação de Impacto à Saúde (AIS) é definida pela Organização Mundial da Saúde como uma metodologia que engloba a identificação, predição e avaliação das esperadas mudanças nos riscos à saúde. Objetivo: analisar as contribuições de especialistas sobre as etapas da AIS. Foi realizada pesquisa com especialistas brasileiros sobre as etapas da AIS, no que tange às regiões de implantação de usinas hidrelétricas utilizando uma plataforma eletrônica. Participaram do estudo 18 especialistas de oito instituições de ensino superior de cinco estados brasileiros. Indicam que na AIS sejam observados os seguintes aspectos: necessidade de formação de equipes interdisciplinares e multiprofissionais; participação da população atingida em todas as etapas; atenção especial para a saúde mental; e considerar as evidências científicas. Esses aspectos contribuem para qualificar as etapas da AIS na implantação e monitoramento de novos empreendimentos hidrelétricos.

Abstract Health Impact Assessment (HIA) is defined by the World Health Organization as a methodology that encompasses the identification, prediction and evaluation of expected changes in health risks. Objective: to analyze the contributions of experts on the stages of HIA. Research was carried out with Brazilian specialists on the stages of HIA with regard to the areas where hydroelectric plants are located using an electronic platform. Eighteen specialists from eight higher education institutions in five Brazilian states participated in the study. They indicate that the following aspects must be observed in the HIA: the need to create interdisciplinary and multiprofessional teams; participation of the affected population at all stages; special attention to mental health; and consider the scientific evidence. These aspects contribute to qualify the HIA stages in the implementation and monitoring of new hydroelectric projects.

Bovine cysticercosis is a zoonotic parasitic infection caused by the larval stage (Cysticercus bovis) of Taenia saginata. This study aimed to identify prevention and control measures for bovine cysticercosis indicated by experts in the fields of public and animal health. The study was conducted through three rounds of the Delphi method and had the participation of 44 experts from 13 Brazilian states in 30 educational institutions, research institutions, and sanitary inspection services. The first round comprised an open question, the answers to which formed the basis for structuring the second and third questionnaire. To reach a consensus in the second and third rounds, experts were asked to express their agreement or disagreement of each proposition on the questionnaire using a five-point Likert scale. A descriptive statistical analysis was performed at the end of each round. Twenty-three specialists (52.27%) participated in all three rounds. The first round resulted in 28 proposals categorized into six areas: health education, methods of diagnosis and treatment, sanitation measures, epidemiological studies, legislation and sanitary supervision, and intersectorality. In the second round, the experts reached a consensus on 16 propositions (57.14%). This percentage increased by 3.54% during the third round. At the end of the third round, the experts had reached a consensus on 17 of the 28 initial propositions (60.71%). The highest percentage of agreement (29.4%) was observed in the category of health education. This study allowed us to identify 17 recommendations pertaining to the prevention and control of bovine cysticercosis. These measures are not mutually exclusive, and require an integrated approach to the establishment of intervention actions at various points in the life cycle of the parasite.

Este estudo teve como objetivo identificar as medidas de prevenção e controle da cisticercose bovina indicadas por especialistas na área da saúde pública e animal. O estudo foi realizado através de três rodadas do método Delphi e contou com a participação de 44 especialistas de 13 estados brasileiros em trinta instituições de ensino, pesquisa e serviços de inspeção sanitária. A primeira rodada foi composta de uma questão aberta cujas respostas serviram de base para a estruturação do segundo e terceiro questionário. Para obtenção de consenso, na segunda e terceira rodada, os especialistas foram convidados a expressarem sua concordância ou discordância para cada proposição do questionário através de uma escala de Likert de cinco pontos. A análise estatística descritiva foi realizada no final de cada rodada. Vinte e três (52,27%) especialistas participaram das três rodadas. A primeira rodada resultou em 28 propostas classificadas em seis áreas: educação em saúde, métodos de diagnóstico e tratamento, medidas de saneamento, estudos epidemiológicos, legislação e fiscalização sanitária e intersetorialidade. Na segunda rodada, 16 (57,14%) proposições obtiveram consenso entre os especialistas. Houve um aumento neste percentual de 3,54% durante a terceira rodada. Ao término da terceira rodada, 17 (60,71%) proposições, das 28 iniciais, obtiveram consenso entre os especialistas. O maior percentual de consenso foi verificado no eixo educação em saúde (29,4%). Os resultados deste estudo permitiram identificar 17 recomendações para a prevenção e controle da cisticercose bovina. Estas medidas não são excludentes, e exigem uma abordagem integrada para o estabelecimento de ações de intervenção em vários pontos do ciclo de vida do parasito.

Abstract To identify and analyze the contents of scientific literature on Health Impact Assessment in relation to the environment. An integrative literature review carried out by searching for studies in the Periodicals Portal of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel. A total of 38 studies were included; the period with the greatest number of publications was between 2012 and 2014, with studies developed mainly in Europe and North America. The categories that emerged were Health Impact Assessment practice; Health Impact Assessment and Urban Planning; Environmental Impact Assessment and Health Impact Assessment; and Environment and Health. There is a movement for the integration of Health Impact Assessment into Environmental Impact Assessment and the consequent institutionalization of that integration since Environmental Impact Assessment already has a consolidated legal base.

Abstract Introduction: the effects on human health of environmental changes brought about by the installation of a hydroelectric power plant may be physical or mental. Objective: to identify health impacts from the implementation of the Foz do Chapecó Hydroelectric Power Plant in the perspectives of the affected families. Methodology: a qualitative study was conducted with farming families affected by the reservoir of the Foz do Chapecó Hydroelectric Power Plant. Results: the transformation of the environment generated impacts on human health engendering illnesses like depression, hypertension, insomnia, and alcoholism. Conclusion: results presented in this paper indicate that, in addition to environmental and social aspects, questions relating to the health of the affected population must be taken into account when assessing the impacts generated by the installation of a hydroelectric power plant.

A construção de usinas hidrelétricas (UHE) causa modificações no ambiente, alterando o território, interferindo nas políticas públicas locais e gerando importantes impactos na saúde. Considerando tais aspectos, este estudo teve como objetivo realizar a classificação do impacto na saúde gerado pela implantação das UHE instaladas no Rio Uruguai por meio de indicadores de saúde ambiental, analisando como os contextos sociais e ambientais podem afetar a saúde de grupos populacionais dos municípios de Santa Catarina e do Rio Grande do Sul atingidos por esses empreendimentos. O estudo possui um delineamento quantitativo e utilizou como roteiro para a coleta de dados uma Matriz de Saúde Ambiental. A matriz é pautada em indicadores de políticas de saúde, ambiental, socioeconômica e de doenças relacionadas ao ambiente. O período da pesquisa abrangeu cinco anos antes e depois da construção das hidrelétricas, incluindo o período das obras. A implantação desses empreendimentos ocasionou condições favoráveis ao desenvolvimento de doenças e de risco à saúde nos municípios atingidos.

Introdução: Alimentação saudável deve estar de acordo com as necessidades alimentares levando em consideração a cultura, raça, gênero, etnia, condição financeira e os aspectos de qualidade, variedade, equilíbrio e moderação.Objetivos: Conhecer as percepções sobre ambiente e alimentação saudável de estudantes universitários, bem como conhecer suas práticas alimentares.Método: Este é um estudo observacional prospectivo desenvolvido em uma universidade de Santa Catarina envolvendo estudantes de cursos de graduação da Área de Ciências da Saúde. Dos 1816 estudantes matriculados em 2014/1, foram sorteados 10%, de ambos os sexos, incluindo estudantes de todos os cursos.Resultados: Participaram da pesquisa 175 estudantes, sendo 81,14% (n=142) do sexo feminino. A idade variou entre 18 e 30 anos. Mais da metade dos estudantes, 58% (n=101), não possue renda, porém recebe ajuda financeira dos pais, sendo que 61% (n=106) dos estudantes realizam suas refeições em casa e 58% (n=101) preparam sua própria refeição. 47% (n=83) levam em média de 15 a 30 minutos para se alimentar e 51% (n=90) classificam como calmo o ambiente onde fazem as refeições com família/amigos. Ainda, 89% (n=156) consideram o almoço como refeição principal consumindo arroz, feijão, carne e salada. No jantar, 62% (n=108) optam por lanches e refeições mais leves e 5% (n=10) não jantam.Conclusão: A compreensão sobre ambiente e alimentação saudável demonstrou que os estudantes deferem especial importância por um ambiente limpo e agradável, fator que foi destacado como fundamental para uma boa alimentação.

Abstract: Family farming came to school as a public policy in Brazil, linked to National School Feeding Program (PNAE - Programa Nacional de Alimentação Escolar, in Portuguese). In order to discuss the interface between family farming and school feeding, regarding barriers and coping mechanisms, 35 social actors were interviewed in Santa Catarina, Southern Brazil. The barriers were cost of goods, bureaucracy, insufficient technical assistance, resistance to changes, weaknesses in the organization of farmers and public managers. The conclusion is that studied interface has being built in facing those obstacles with dialogue mechanisms, intersectionality, investment, training activities and organization.

Ants are used as bioindicators because they play diverse ecological roles in terrestrial ecosystems. Their richness, abundance, and broad geographic distribution allow these insects to be used to predict the conditions of environmental conservation. This study aimed to evaluate the bioindicator potential of the ant fauna in Parque Estadual do Turvo, Rio Grande do Sul. Sampling was carried out in two events, in January and November of 2019, using soil and canopy pitfall traps, sardine baits, glucose baits, an entomological umbrella, and a sweeping net. We verified the association of ant species to the sampled strata (soil and leaf litter and vegetation) through an Indicator Species Analysis (ISA) and Principal Component Analysis (PCA). We identified 157 species belonging to 32 genera and eight subfamilies. The subfamily with the most outstanding richness was Myrmicinae, with 70 species, followed by Formicinae, with 40 species. The richest genera in the samples were Camponotus (S = 29), Pheidole (S = 23), and Linepithema (S = 11). Overall, 58 species occurred exclusively in the soil and leaf litter stratum and 23 in the arboreal stratum. Nine species had a significant indication value for the sampled strata, seven for soil and leaf litter, and two for the arboreal strata. The results show the potential of ant fauna as a basis for environmental impact studies and management and conservation plans in the southern Atlantic Forest biome.

O estudo visa caracterizar a segurança dos alimentos comercializados em feiras livres na perspectiva dos consumidores. A pesquisa foi realizada nas sete feiras livres de Chapecó-SC, em funcionamento no segundo semestre de 2021. O estudo contou com uma amostra de 374 consumidores maiores de 18 anos que responderam a um questionário semiestruturado. A maioria dos participantes (91,4%) se preocupa com a presença de agrotóxicos nos alimentos comercializados nas feiras livres e menos da metade (45,7%) dos consumidores confia na autenticidade dos alimentos orgânicos que adquirem nas feiras livres. Percebe-se que há a necessidade em estabelecer a confiança entre produtores e consumidores das feiras livres. Nesse sentido, o selo de acreditação de produto orgânico tem o potencial de aumentar a confiança dos consumidores nos alimentos que adquirem. Conhecer as percepções e expectativas dos consumidores das feiras livres sobre a qualidade e segurança dos alimentos é de fundamental importância para a oferta de alimentos promotores da saúde fornecidos pela agricultura familiar e para a sustentabilidade das feiras livres nas cidades. Destaca-se que políticas públicas municipais precisam contemplar os produtores e os consumidores, reconhecendo as feiras livres como indispensáveis equipamentos de segurança alimentar e nutricional.

O Guia Alimentar brasileiro reitera que o alimento deve ser seguro desde o seu plantio, transporte e até o armazenamento, elaboração e distribuição no ambiente escolar. Nessa perspectiva, esse estudo objetivou conhecer aspectos do ambiente, espaços físicos e o entorno dos locais onde é produzida e distribuída a alimentação escolar, as condições de manipulação dos alimentos bem como ações de educação ambiental. Foram analisadas 10 escolas da rede pública de um município do Oeste Catarinense. Foi aplicado um questionário semi-estruturado a um representante de cada escola e aos responsáveis pela manipulação e distribuição da alimentação escolar. Trata-se de instrumento adaptado, com base nas Resoluções da Diretoria Colegiada nº 216/2004 e n° 275/2002 da Agência Nacional de Vigilância Sanitária. Observou-se que em todas as escolas há ações de educação ambiental; 90% (n=9) apresentam sistema de coleta seletiva de lixo e 20% (n=2) destinam os resíduos orgânicos para compostagem. Em 90% (n=9) das escolas, a água é proveniente da rede pública e 10% (n=1) utilizam água de poço artesiano. Nenhuma das escolas atende integralmente às normas sobre o estado de conservação e adequação das instalações físicas das áreas de produção e distribuição da alimentação escolar. Observou-se a presença de focos de contaminação nas imediações da maioria (70%, n=7) das escolas. Em todas elas, observaram-se adequações parciais à legislação em relação aos espaços físicos e do ambiente e a falta de orientação aos manipuladores. Isso evidencia que são necessárias ações corretivas e preventivas para solucionar as inadequações encontradas nas escolas.

The use of biological larvicide based on Bacillus thuringiensis var. israelensis (Bti) has stood out for its effectiveness in controlling mosquito Aedes aegypti. The larvicide Spinosad is used in the National Dengue Control Program. This study evaluated the effect of Spinosad and Bti larvicide at various temperatures in a laboratory environment. The assays were performed with 10 larvae in quintuplicate, at temperatures of 18° C, 25° C and 32° C, with 24-hour monitoring. The larvae exposed to Bti were eliminated within 0.5 hours at ambient and hot temperatures (32° C), while at colder conditions (18° C) it took 1.5 hours for complete elimination. Regarding Spinosad, 50% survived for 11 hours, but all larvae were killed after 24 hours. The results reinforce the indication of these products for larval control of the species under the conditions of temperature fluctuation.

This study aimed to evaluate the influence of environmental factors on the occurrence of dengue and the spatial distribution of the cases in the municipality of Chapecó, Santa Catarina State. Dengue cases were obtained from the Epidemiological Surveillance Department of Santa Catarina and Epidemiological Surveillance of Chapecó. The data of positive containers for Aedes aegypti were obtained from the Environmental Health Surveillance of the municipality. In 2015 and 2016, Chapecó registered 819 autochthonous cases of dengue. It showed a significant relationship between the number of foci of the vector and the minimum and maximum temperatures, as well as the cases of dengue and the population size of the neighborhoods evaluated. This study indicated a multifactorial influence on mosquito proliferation and the occurrence of viral transmission of dengue in the municipality of Chapecó. It reinforces the need of an interdisciplinary approach to prevent and control this endemic disease
