Se presenta un trabajo que se enfocó en establecer los principales aportes de la literatura respecto de la familia y la ciudadanía, como medio para establecer el rol de la familia dentro de esta formación y proponer estrategias y recomendaciones que puedan brindar una buena formación en ciudadanía estableciendo la participación y la democracia dentro de los entes sociales con el fin de crear una ciudadanía justa y equitativa. En este sentido este documento se propone analizar la producción académica en el periodo de 2016- 2020 sobre el papel reportado en la literatura académica respecto del rol de la familia en la formación ciudadana, lo anterior por medio de tres ejes de acción así: i. Rastrear la producción en base de datos respecto del rol de la familia en la formación ciudadana en bases de datos; ii. Revisar la producción respecto del rol de la familia en la formación ciudadana en bases de datos y iii. Describir la producción respecto del rol de la familia en la formación ciudadana ; A work is presented that focused on establishing the main contributions of the literature regarding the family and citizenship, as a means of establishing the role of the family within this training and proposing strategies and recommendations that can provide a good education in citizenship, establishing participation and democracy within social entities in order to create a fair and equitable citizenship. In this sense, this document proposes to analyze the academic production in the period 2016-2020 on the role reported in the academic literature regarding the role of the family in civic education, the above through three axes of action as follows: i. Track production in databases regarding the role of the family in citizen training in databases; ii. Review the production regarding the role of the family in citizen training in databases and iii. Describe production regarding the role of the family in civic education
