Between 1912 and 1956 many Spanish diplomats and members of the army published articles and books about their work on Moroccan territory, customs, religion and the Arab culture. These documents show the interest of the Spanish Administration in the social organization of the territory, especially regarding the correct functioning of Islamic justice, on which the success of Spain as colonial power depended.
