En este artículo se analizan los modelos institucionales de competencia digital docente con mayor impacto en los últimos tiempos y se abordan críticamente tres características comunes a todos ellos, entendidas como deficiencias en su planteamiento. En primer lugar, que no parten explícitamente de un modelo de acción docente y de manera implícita reducen la función docente al trabajo en el aula, evitando aspectos como el compromiso social y político o el papel de la escuela en el desarrollo comunitario. En segundo lugar, que parten de una visión taxonómica del concepto de competencia, ignorando la complejidad de los diferentes contextos en los que dicha competencia se pone en acción y se desarrolla y en su papel en la construcción de la identidad del docente, algo que enfoques sociomateriales y holísticos sí incluyen. En tercer lugar, que se fundamentan de manera contradictoria en una visión instrumentalista de la tecnología como herramienta neutra en valores y, por el contrario, en una concepción determinista de la relación entre tecnología y sociedad. Finalmente, se propone a debate un modelo que hemos denominado "Competencia Docente Integral en el mundo digital", específicamente diseñado para la educación básica, que está siendo objeto de una investigación más ambiciosa ; This article analyses the most impacting institutional models of digital teaching competence, and critically addresses three characteristics common to all of them, understood as deficiencies in their approach. Firstly, they do not explicitly start from a model of teaching action, and implicitly reduce the teaching function to the classroom performance, avoiding aspects such as social and political commitment, or the role of the school in community development. Secondly, they are based on a taxonomic vision of the concept of competence, ignoring the complexity of the different contexts in which competence is carried on and developed, as well as its role in the construction of teacher identity, something that socio-material and holistic approaches do include. Thirdly, they are based on an instrumentalist vision of technology as a neutral tool in values and, on the contrary, on a deterministic conception of the relationship between technology and society. Finally, we present a model that we have called "Integral Teaching Competence for the digital world", specifically designed for basic education, which is the subject of a more ambitious research.

AbstractBy the end of 2020, over 16,300 Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) from 950 universities worldwide had enrolled over 180 million students. Interest in MOOCs has been matched by significant research on the topic, including a considerable number of reviews. This study uses Machine Learning techniques and human expert supervision to generate a comprehensive systematic literature mapping review that overcomes some limitations of the traditional ones and provides a broader overview of the content and main topics studied in the specialized literature devoted to MOOCs. The sample consisted of 6320 publications automatically classified within six research topics, denominated by human experts: institutional approach, pedagogical approach, evaluation, analytics, participation, and educational resources. The content analysis of the topics identified was conducted using visual network analysis, which supported the identification of different thematic sub-clusters and endorsed the classification. Results from the review show that the lowest production of MOOC papers is within the topics of the pedagogical approach and educational resources. In contrast, participation and evaluation are the most frequent ones. In addition, the most cited papers are on the topics of analytics and resources, being the pedagogical approach and the institutional approach the less cited. This highlights the need for more MOOC research from a pedagogical perspective and calls upon the presence of educators.

This work is the revised version of a report on the new knowledge construction and creation models prepared by the authors within the framework of the International Forum on Education and Technology held in 2021 (FIET 2021). Based on the conclusions on this same theme from the first edition of the Forum held in 2014, the report identifies five major areas of development around which some of the most important challenges faced by emerging models of construction and creation of knowledge in digital contexts: the democratization of education and the taking into consideration of issues related to diversity in a broad sense; the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and its implications regarding the uses of ICT in education; the existence of multiple and diverse contexts for the construction and creation of knowledge, their interrelation and their necessary articulation; content curation, its impact on educational practices and its implications for teacher training and for student learning; and learning analytics and their role in decision-making aimed at improving teaching effectiveness and optimizing learning. These five areas are reviewed successively, identifying, in each of them, the issues that, in the opinion of the authors, are most significant and relevant and, consequently, should be the object of special attention in research and educational innovation in the coming years. years. By way of conclusion, the progress made between 2014 and 2021 is synthesized, the pending challenges are identified and some of the most salient features are pointed out that, in light of the analyzes presented in the report, should characterize the emerging models of construction and knowledge creation. The work also includes two annexes dedicated, respectively, to presenting a glossary of some terms used in the report and five relevant and significant research products from the five mentioned development areas. ; Este trabajo identifica cinco grandes ámbitos de desarrollo en torno a los cuales se articulan algunos de los retos más importantes que enfrentan los modelos emergentes de construcción y creación de conocimiento en contextos digitales: la democratización de la educación y la toma en consideración de las cuestiones relacionadas con la diversidad en un sentido amplio; el impacto de la pandemia de la COVID-19 y sus implicaciones en lo que concierne a los usos de las TIC en la educación; la existencia de múltiples y diversos contextos de construcción y creación de conocimiento, su interrelación y su necesaria articulación; la curación de contenidos, su impacto en las prácticas educativas y sus implicaciones para la formación del profesorado y para el aprendizaje del alumnado; y las analíticas de aprendizaje y su papel en la toma de decisiones orientadas a mejorar la eficacia de la enseñanza y optimizar el aprendizaje. Estos cinco ámbitos son revisados sucesivamente identificando, en cada uno de ellos, las cuestiones que, a juicio de los autores, son más significativas y relevantes y, en consecuencia, deberían ser objeto de especial atención en la investigación y la innovación educativa en los próximos años. A modo de conclusión, se identifican los retos pendientes y se señalan algunos de los rasgos más destacados que, a la luz de los análisis presentados en el informe, deberían caracterizar los modelos emergentes de construcción y creación de conocimiento. El trabajo incluye, además, dos anexos dedicados, respectivamente, a presentar un glosario de algunos términos utilizados en el informe y cinco productos de investigación relevantes y significativos de los cinco ámbitos de desarrollo mencionados.
