Utility privatization and the poor in Nigeria
The book evaluates the compatibility of the current privatization of utilities with the overriding goal of effective poverty alleviation in Nigeria. The authors adjudge the emerging outcome of the privatization process in the telecommunications sector so far as pro-poor, but also note that there is room for improvement. Based on privatization experiences in Nigeria, Africa and elsewhere, the authors make recommendations for achieving similar, or even better, feats with respect to the privatisation of the energy and water sectors in the country.
