"Many books have been written for new CEOs on what they need to do when they take charge at a new company, but few focus on what the rest of the organization has to do to set up the new leader--and the rest of the organization--for success. During any transition of C-suite leadership, the board of directors, the outgoing CEO (if there is one), the Chief Human Resources Officer, and other influential senior executives all play a crucial role in achieving a successful transition. What does it take to focus the organization, culture, systems, and processes so that the entire company lays a foundation for success?Transitions at the Top tells companies everything they need to know to successfully maintain continuity as one leader passes the mantle of responsibility to a successor, spanning the steps & events from the point that a candidate for a top position accepts the offer, all the way through to the point that a critical mass of followers accepts him/her as the established leader. The book includes advice for each role who will be managing the transition"--

In recent years, workplace harassment cases havemultiplied and ceased to be reserved from one oranother society to become a common reality ofour times. Although there has been an attemptto solve this problem from legislative policies, it isalso important to consider the role of trade unions. In this article, the author examines from web platforms the eff ect and presence of tradeunions on specifications in the prevention and fi ght against psychological harassment on Brazilworkplaces. To achieve this, comparative case law, union agreements and news from Brazil and othercountries press agencies have been considered.

The present paper shows the application of the model-based AGILE 4.0 architectural framework currently being developed within the context of the European Union (EU) - funded AGILE 4.0 research project. This architectural framework is conceived to guide designers in the definition, modeling, design and optimization of complex aeronautical systems, by following a Systems Engineering Product Development process. The AGILE4.0 architectural framework supports different activities for the development of systems, such as requirements engineering, functional analysis, system architecting and Multidisciplinary Design and Optimization (MDO). More specifically, the present paper focuses on part of the architectural framework, which is being developed to address the initial activities of a Systems Engineering process, namely the definition and modelling of system stakeholders, needs and requirements. The development of this architectural framework is indeed fostered by all the potential advantages of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches, which in contrast to traditional document-based approaches might bring to several benefits in the design process, as enhancement of systems design quality, more complete and clearer development of system requirements and specifications and improved communications within the design teams. Seven different application cases are addressed in the paper, demonstrating how the architectural framework and its implementation in a MBSE development system can be exploited to streamline, accelerate and improve the definition and modeling of complex systems. Advantages but also some limitations of this model-based approach are identified from the applications and addressed in the paper.

Systematic modeling of architecture design spaces is needed when architecting complex systems, to support experts in making less biased decisions, and to formulate the optimization problem needed to explore the large combinatorial design space. Existing methods do not offer enough compatibility with the Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches, cannot model all needed design scenarios, or are not flexible enough when it comes to architecture evaluation. A new method is presented that provides a semantic representation of the architecture design space, modeled as the Architecture Design Space Graph (ADSG). TheADSG represents three types of architectural decisions: function-component mapping, component characterization, and component connection. The ADSG is constructed from a design space definition, and discrete architectural decisions are automatically inserted according to specified rules. Once decisions and metrics have been defined, the hierarchical, mixed-integer, multi-objective optimization problem can be formulated: decisions are mapped to design variables, and performance metrics are mapped to objectives or constraints. An application of the method to the Apollo mission architecting problem is presented. ; The research presented in this paper has been performed in the framework of the AGILE 4.0 project (Towards Cyber-physical Collaborative Aircraft Development) and has received funding from the European Union Horizon 2020 Programme under grant agreement n°815122.

The research and innovation AGILE project has developed an approach, the so-called AGILE Paradigm, focusing on the acceleration of the deployment and operation of collaborative Multidisciplinary Design Analysis Optimization systems, which in turns can be exploited to accelerate the development of complex products, such as novel aerospace systems. Although the technologies developed for the implementation of the paradigm, have proved to reduce the deployment and operational time to more than 40% with respect to conventional MDAO approaches, the AGILE Paradigm has not been formalized and model by digital design engineering practices. This work introduces a novel approach leveraging MBSE principles to streamline the development of agile MDAO design systems, and establishing a bridge between MBSE and MDAO. Major outcomes here presented are the MBSE-driven models of the so-called AGILE MDAO system, representing the architecture, the requirements, as well as the organizational aspects, and all the interactions and activities implemented during the life-cycle stages of the MDAO system. The MBSE Architectural Framework, which defines the underlying ontological concepts and perspectives driving the development of the AGILE MDAO system model, are modeled and presented as well. The paper introduces for the first time the overall approach, as well as the high-level elements of the models developed, here represented by making use of SysML standard. The described approach is at the core of the recently launched project AGILE4.0, in which its scope will be expanded to cover the entire life-cycle of the development of complex aeronautical systems. ; The research presented in this paper has been performed in the framework of the AGILE 4.0 project (Towards Cyber-physical Collaborative Aircraft Development) and has received funding from the European Union Horizon 2020 Programme under grant agreement n°815122.
