Occupational health and safety Law is a field of Law where the stagnation of European Social Law is most being felt. The European Union Strategic Framework on Health and Safety at Work 2014-2020 was approved in june 2014, and the fear of a throwback that dominated the legal doctrine was confirmed, as the paradigm of the adaptation of the work to the worker seems to be changing into the worker's adaptation to the work. Moreover, new challenges are presented to the field of Occupational Health and Safety, due to emerging risk factors that create new occupational risks, such as psychosocial risks, nanomaterial risks, aalcohol and drug dependence, among others. In the meanwhile, the European Union is challenged to present instruments that guide the Members States in these issues and that offer concrete solutions to the problems that arise in each Member State. The answer might be global, as the broader concept of health adopted by the World Health Organization seems to be most suitable to solve the worker's problems, as well as the International Labor Organization's Conventions. But is it possible to transcend the European legal boarders and seek for answers in those international organizations? Costa, J. D., & Costa, A. C. (2017). Application of spatial regression to investigate current patterns of crime in the north of Portugal. Poster session presented at AGILE 2017, Wageningen, Netherlands. ; Crime is one of the main problems of societies. However, research on this phenomenon has not yet reached a consensus on what factors influence the variability of crime rates and how it positions itself and acts in space. This work aims to contribute to a greater understanding of crime in the north of Portugal by investigating demographic and socioeconomic factors that may be associated with it. We explore the use of spatial statistics techniques through a detailed exploratory spatial data analysis (ESDA) first, and the application of regression models (Ordinary Least Squares and GWR – Geographically Weighted Regression) afterwards. The results show a crime hotspot on the coastline, and spatial homogeneity of low values between central-south municipalities. Crime patterns might be explained by population density, distance to the district capital and beneficiaries of Social Integration Income, who are individuals without socioeconomic conditions that need financial assistance from the Portuguese Government. Internal devaluation policies imposed in southern European countries since 2010 have weakened labour market institutions and intensified wage inequality and the falling wage share. The debate in the wake of the financial and economic crisis raised concerns about slow wage growth and persistent economic inequality. This article attempts to shed light on this debate, scrutinising the case of Portugal in the period 2010–2017. Mapping the broad developments at the national level, the article examines four sectors, looking in particular at the impact of minimum wages and collective bargaining on wage trends vis-à-vis wage inequality and wage share trajectories. We conclude that both minimum wage increases and the slight recovery of collective bargaining had a positive effect on wage outcomes and were important in reducing wage inequality. The extent of this reduction was limited, however, by uneven sectoral recovery dynamics and the persistent effects of precarious work, combined with critical liberalisation reforms.

O artigo objetiva analisar os lugares ocupados pelas questões de gênero e pela ideia de formação humana integral nos documentos norteadores do Centro Estadual de Educação Profissional Senador Jessé Pinto Freire (Cenep SJPF), situado em Natal/RN. Para analisar o Projeto Político-Pedagógico (PPP) e o Projeto Político-Pedagógico Institucional (PPPI), foi empregada a metodologia de abordagem qualitativa e exploratória, com o auxílio da Análise Textual Discursiva (ATD). O referencial teórico concentrou-se na literatura acerca dos estudos de gênero, em diálogo com teóricos da Educação Profissional. Os resultados apontam que os documentos estão alinhados à perspectiva de uma Formação Humana Integral, no entanto, diagnosticou-se um forte silenciamento das questões de gênero, invisibilizando a subalternização das mulheres cisgêneros na Educação Profissional.

It was developed by the Portuguese partner of the PRILHE (Promoting Reflective Independent Learning in HE) project consortium. This was a project funded by the European Commission Socrates Adult Education Programme (113869-CP-1-2004-1-UK- GRUNDTVIG-G1PP). In Portugal, adults may choose Higher Education Institutions[1] (HEI) or Technological Schools (TS) to pursue their education. The case study shows that there are similarities and differences between students from TS and Universities, mostly related with the approaches students have to learning and the way teachers take into consideration these approaches. It seems that TS have "best practices" that could usefully be implemented by other institutions. The chapter is organised as follows: first, we contextualize LLL development as an element within the political objective of creation of a knowledge economy, especially in the context of the European Union's Lisbon Agenda, linking education with employment. The different access routes non-traditional adult students can take to access Universities in the Portuguese higher education (HE) system are then briefly described. The PRILHE project, its main objectives, the participant institutions in the consortium, and the methodology used to gather and analyse data are briefly explained. Surpassing the national perspective usually adopted, the authors confirmed the existence of a pattern of population distribution common to the whole Iberian Peninsula in the long run. This pattern is clearly associated with geographical factors. These variables seem to have more weight in explaining changes between 1877/78 and 1940 than in the period from 1940 to 2001. The observation of the cross-border region has shown that proximity to the frontier has not generated any distinct pattern of population density on either side of the boundary line. The spatial coherence of the observed phenomena throughout the Peninsula and of its evolution, independent of the border between states, reinforces the importance of geographic factors in their explanation. At the same time, this verification opens up new issues related to the effect of national political and economic policies.

Lifelong learning (LLL) has received increasing attention in recent years. It implies that learning should take place at all stages of the "life cycle and it should be life-wide, that is embedded in all life contexts from the school to the work place, the home and the community" (Green, 2002, p.613). The 'learning society', is the vision of a society where there are recognized opportunities for learning for every person, wherever they are and however old they happen to be. Globalization and the rise of new information technologies are some of the driving forces that cause depreciation of specialised competences. This happens very quickly in terms of economic value; consequently, workers of all skills levels, during their working life, must have the opportunity to update "their technical skills and enhance general skills to keep pace with continuous technological change and new job requirements" (Fahr, 2005, p. 75). It is in this context that LLL tops the policy agenda of international bodies, national governments and non-governmental organizations, in the field of education and training, to justify the need for LLL opportunities for the population as they face contemporary employability challenges. SUMMARY Brazil has favorable hydrographic and climatic conditions for the development of fish farming. The success of this activity depends on the quality of the water, since it directly influences its productivity. Therefore, in order to verify the microbiological and physico - chemical characteristics of the water in the creation of the tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum) species in fish farming in São Bento, a municipality located in the. State, 16 water samples from six fish farms were evaluated for the physical parameters (Temperature, transparency, dissolved oxygen, pH, turbidity, color, alkalinity, hardness, nitrate and nitrite) and microbiological (coliforms and heterotrophic mesophilic bacteria). According to the findings, all samples were contaminated by total and thermotolerant coliforms, 13 (77.15%) were outside the standards recommended by the legislation. As for the mesophilic aerobic heterotrophic bacteria, the mean counts ranged from 30.6 x 102 to 4.7 x 104 CFU / mL. As for the physical-chemical parameters, it was verified that the temperature ranged from 27.4°C to 30°C; PH 5.0 to 8.2; Transparency ranged from 0 to 46 cm; Turbidity from 12 to 1,251 NTU, the color from 0 to 666.50 UH; Dissolved oxygen from 7.1 to 14.7 mg / L; Alkalinity of 17.5 to 412 mg / L; Hardness from 14.6 to 1027.8 mg / L; Nitrate from 1 to 160 mg / L and nitrite from 0.01 to 0.45 mg / L. The findings show that the water of fish farms has inadequate microbiological and physico-chemical characteristics for fish farming.
