O presente artigo tem como objetivo refletir sobre os desafios de analisar a política pública de Educação do Campo, considerando possíveis contribuições advindas da abordagem do Ciclo de Políticas de Stephen Ball em interface com as especificidades que integram a política. A proposta de Ball inscreve os seguintes contextos: Contexto da influência, Contexto da produção do texto e Contexto da prática. A partir de um estudo de base teórica realizado por meio de levantamento bibliográfico, de base qualitativa e exploratória acerca da referida temática, o presente estudo problematiza sobre como a política de Educação do Campo vem sendo tratada na agenda política-educacional brasileira a partir dos diferentes contextos apontados na teoria do Ciclo de Política, destacando contribuições e limites ao processo de análise, dada a singularidade histórica e conceitual da política de Educação do Campo enquanto processo contra hegemônico. As conclusões apontam que as possíveis contribuições do Ciclo de Políticas para a análise da política de Educação do Campo podem ser úteis no tocante ao apontamento de cenários, contudo, carece de dinâmicas que permitam a interligação entre os mesmos considerando as tensões e conflitos, não apenas no interior de cada contexto, mas também na base estrutural em que estes se encontram. Contudo, pela flexibilidade que apontam indicam abertura crítica para articular realidades e experiências singulares a exemplo da Educação do Campo, especialmente através da indicação de elementos que podem se converter em passos para uma construção metodológica.

Previous tests using a growth medium and olive mill wastewater (OMWW) have shown that it supplies carbon and electron donors suitable for sulphate reducing bacteria (SRB). We assessed the co-treatment of acid mine drainage (AMD) and OMWW using SRB-enriched bioreactors and identified the most abundant bacterial populations present under optimized conditions. The process requires a neutralizing agent to create optimal pH conditions for successful removal of the AMD's main contaminants. Concentrations of SO42-, Al, Fe, Cu, Zn, and Mn decreased to below Portugal's maximum admissible values for irrigation waters, and all but Mn were reduced to less than Portugal's emission limit values (ELVs) for wastewater discharges. Phenol concentrations-the main pollutants in OMWW-dropped to values between 1/10 and 1/5 their initial concentrations in batch tests using mixtures of AMD and OMWW, and to 1/2 their initial concentrations in flow-through tests. The final total phenol concentrations were still above the ELV for wastewater discharges, but phenols are not regulated in irrigation waters, and OMWW is used by some producers to irrigate soils. In this Discussion article, we examine the amount of natural resources that is increasingly being consumed and wasted by humanity, and propose solutions to reverse this pattern. Since the beginning of the 20th century, societies, especially from industrialized countries, have been wasting resources in different ways. On one hand, the metabolism of industrial societies relies on non-renewable resources. On the other hand, yearly, we directly waste or mismanage around 78% of the total water withdrawn, 49% of the food produced, 31% of the energy produced, 85% of ores and 26% of non-metallic minerals extracted, respectively. As a consequence, natural resources are getting depleted and ecosystems polluted, leading to irreversible environmental changes, biological loss and social conflicts. To reduce the anthropogenic footprint in the planet, and live in harmony with other species and ourselves, we suggest to shift the current economic model based on infinite growth and reduce inequality between and within countries, following a degrowth strategy in industrialized countries. Public education to reduce superfluous consumption is also necessary.
