We seek to better understand how formal mentoring may impact protégés' leadership development by arguing that protégés' informal mentoring networks help explain the relationship between formal mentoring and two protégé leadership development outcomes: motivation to lead and promotability. We also argue that protégés' political skill and gender serve as boundary conditions of these mediated relationships. Using 100 South Korean mentor-protégé dyads in four organizations across three points in time, we find that a higher level of formal mentoring is positively associated with the quality of protégés' informal mentoring networks, which, in turn, is positively associated with protégés' motivation to lead, but not protégés' promotability. We also find that the relationship between a higher level of formal mentoring and the quality of protégés' informal mentoring networks is strengthened when protégés have a higher level of political skill. In addition, we find that female protégés obtain more informal mentoring networking benefits from their formal mentors than male protégés. Theoretical and practical implications are discussed.

Using a sample of 1708 team members in 292 team-based establishments, we examine the relationship between team member stress, and team autonomy in the form of team decision making, team leader appointment, and team responsibility. We also examine the relationship between stress, and intrateam interdependence in the form of team member interdependency and team-based job rotation. We further examine whether the relationships between team design and stress are mediated by team member job demands and job control. We find that an increase in job demands indirectly mediates the positive relationships between team decision making and team responsibility, and stress. We also find that a decrease in job demands indirectly mediates the negative relationship between team-based job rotation and stress. Our results suggest that the optimal design of a team, with respect to stress, is a team that has a low degree of autonomy and a high degree of intrateam interdependence.

Se exploran las prácticas institucionales que facilitan u obstaculizan la protección de derechos de niños, niñas y adolescentes en el sistema de protección de la niñez en Honduras a través de sus diferentes etapas. Desde un diseño de Etnografía Institucional, se realizaron entrevistas a catorce trabajadores de instituciones que trabajan con niñez, y a tres residentes en un domicilio de protección. Como resultado, se identificaron múltiples instancias de denuncia, y una estrecha comunicación entre las mismas. Sin embargo, existe carencia de recursos en el sistema, y prejuicios contra adolescentes de la comunidad LGTBIQ; así como prácticas alimentadas por una concepción tradicional de la niñez. El sistema no solamente parece incumplir con algunos principios de la Convención, sino que se encuentra desbordado por precarias condiciones del contexto nacional.

Es indudable la utilización de herramientas digitales en el entorno virtual para el aprendizaje del inglés; por lo tanto, es indispensable investigar al respecto para conocer el impacto de dichos recursos en los diferentes niveles educativos del país. El objetivo de la investigación es determinar la influencia de la herramienta Quizizz en el aprendizaje del inglés de los estudiantes de la carrera de Idioma Extranjero de la Universidad Nacional Jorge Basadre Grohmann de Tacna, a partir de los estándares internacionales. La investigación fue de tipo aplicada con diseño cuasiexperimental, con dos grupos semejantes y con enfoque cuantitativo. La muestra estuvo constituida por 32 estudiantes de la especialidad de Idioma Extranjero. Para la recolección de datos se utilizó como instrumento una prueba escrita a través de un examen internacional nivel B1 con pretest y postest. Los resultados mostraron en la media aritmética que el postest para el grupo control fue de 62.5; mientras que el grupo experimental alcanzó 86.3. Por consiguiente, se concluyó que la utilización de Quizizz es efectiva porque ha mejorado el nivel de aprendizaje del inglés en los estudiantes universitarios.

La inserción de las diversas plataformas educativas ha facilitado el proceso virtual de la enseñanza. Una de las herramientas más empleadas es Quizizz en la retroalimentación y puede generar diferentes estilos de aprendizaje. La presente investigación tiene como objetivo describir la percepción de Quizizz como parte del conectivismo en la educación superior de la Universidad Nacional Jorge Basadre Grohmann en Tacna-Perú en el año académico 2021. El tipo de investigación es descriptiva, mientras que el método empleado es inductivo. Para su ejecución se trabajó mediante un formulario virtual conformado por 13 preguntas, considerando 168 estudiantes de la especialidad Idioma Extranjero de la Facultad de Educación como muestra del presente estudio. Los resultados demuestran que la plataforma Quizizz incentiva al estudiante a conectar con su aprendizaje de manera positiva. Como conclusión, los estudiantes consideran relevante a las herramientas tecnológicas para lograr un aprendizaje óptimo, puesto que la tecnología ya forma parte de su proceso de aprendizaje, y con la conducción del docente pueden lograr una clase dinámica, donde participen activamente.

The Moodle platform is a software that provides a unique framework within which students can access a wide range of online resources, allowing teachers and students to interact using different communication tools at any time. This platform contains a series of tools that were used during distance education as an educational proposal and in the middle of the 2020 pandemic as a necessity to keep the educational system running. For this reason, this article aims to review the positions of researchers on the benefits of the Moodle platform in distance education. It is concluded that the different researchers have a positive position on the benefits of the Moodle platform in distance education. Other researchers affirmed that during 2020, the use of the platform is a response to the need for continuity of the educational service and not as a proposal to stimulate learning activities.
