Are Current Prudential Frameworks Up to the Challenge of Climate Risks?
In: Intereconomics: review of European economic policy, Band 58, Heft 2, S. 96-101

Abstract
Climate and environmental issues will likely impact the financial system's stability as they become more pervasive and tangible. As a result, the appropriate financial regulatory and supervisory measures must be in place. This article discusses the challenges faced by financial institutions and the financial system due to the materialisation of climate and environmental risks and the shortcomings in current prudential frameworks. The arguments presented suggest that if the fundamental goal of the Paris Agreement-aligned transition is to phase out coal-fired energy, reduce oil and gas use, and transform carbon-intensive businesses, improving bank governance supervision and/or fostering climate-related disclosure requirements may not be enough. A critical role is instead played by capital requirements that adequately consider climate risks. Moreover, since microprudential tools are typically focused on direct exposures, they may not be sufficient to address the systemic dimension of climate risks. Macroprudential measures should therefore not be overlooked.

«ICH BIN EIN REGISSEUR DES WORTS UND NICHT DER DEKORATION»:L¿ESTETICA TEATRALE DI LEOPOLD JESSNER: QUASI UN ÓRGANON
This dissertation aims at reconstruing Leopold Jessner's theatre aesthetics through the analysis of his theatrical essays. Jessner was one of the most influential German theatre directors during the Weimar Republic. His figure came along in the cultural landscape in the same years the director's theatre emerged in both Europe and Germany. Through the analysis, this dissertation also aims at rethinking Jessner's theatre aesthetics in the artistic and cultural landscape of the Weimar Republic. The second chapter of the dissertation presents Jessner as a theatre director and focusses on the obstacles and labels that prevented a scientific evaluation of his work. The third chapter proposes an analysis of the author's corpus. In order to shed light on the key aspects of Jessner's aesthetics, the investigation is organised in four macro-sections: Der Theaterleiter, Zeittheater und Theaterpolitik, Regie und Schauspielkunst and Betrachtungen und Bekenntnisse. The fourth chapter summarises the results of the analysis and presents Jessner's Stil des Wesentlichen, focussing on its key elements: the dramaturgical method, the role of scenic design, and of the actor and the relationship with the audience. The last section of the chapter investigates the correlation between Jessners' Stil des Wesentlichen, Expressionism and New Objectivity.

Expressive Freedom on Campus and the Conceptual Elasticity of Harm
In: Canadian journal of political science: CJPS = Revue canadienne de science politique, Band 53, Heft 4, S. 755-776
ISSN: 1744-9324
AbstractHigh-profile controversies have created an impression that expressive freedom is imperilled on university campuses in North America. Analyses of this alleged campus crisis typically focus either on the negative psychosocial characteristics of those who oppose potentially harmful expression or on the cynical ways that expressive freedom can be invoked to normalize harmful expression. Conversely, I argue that theories of harm are key to understanding the contemporary discourse and politics of expressive freedom on campus. To shift the frame of analysis, I critically analyze three interrelated theoretical concepts that feature elastic conceptualizations of harm and are consequential for expressive limits in an academic environment: epistemic injustice, argumentational injustice and epistemic exploitation. I argue that all three concepts require a distinction between testimony and argumentation in order to better balance protection from harm, on the one hand, and expressive freedom and open inquiry, on the other.
Skateboarding's Olympic Moment: The Gendered Contours of Sportification
In: Journal of sport and social issues: the official journal of Northeastern University's Center for the Study of Sport in Society, Band 45, Heft 5, S. 395-425
ISSN: 1552-7638
Skateboarding will be included in the 2020 Olympics, representing a new crescendo of the activity's "sportification." Although some celebrate increased exposure and legitimacy, others bemoan the incursion of outsiders. Nonetheless, it is widely believed that women in particular have much to gain from the Olympic inclusion. This article begins by summarizing the literature on women's marginalization and exclusion and then diagnoses a gendered paradox (and two associated double binds) related to sportification. Based on confidential interviews with some of the top-level female skateboarders in the world, it suggests that women are less ambivalent about elite competition due to their subcultural experiences. Overall, it argues that sportification should not be adopted uncritically or as an inevitable process, and that scholars ought to take critiques of elite competition seriously.
