; Shortly after the end of the civil war, the Soviet military-economic thought faced a number of military-economic problems. The interests of the country's defense required a deep analysis of the economic problems of the first world war and the civil war, the development of ways and methods of the most painless and rapid transfer of the entire national economy to the military track, the further development of the military-economic science.

; Russian Russians in Ukraine are, by historical law, an indigenous people, since Russian and Ukrainian have a common ethno-cultural origin. Bearing in mind the common history until the beginning of the XX century, a significant population of the current Ukrainian lands associated themselves with Russians. At the end of the XX century, Russians and Ukrainians gained their national statehood. But the fraternal peoples have in common memories of the indigenous ethnic unity of Ancient Russia, of the epic three heroes who defended Holy Russia, of the canonical saints of the Russian Orthodox Church. However, today we are all witnessing attempts by the Ukrainian political elite to rewrite the pages of our common history.

I first got to know Sergei Sergeyevich Khorouji through his publications. This happened in the early 1990s, some time after the defense of my dissertation. I have written about different types of historical experiences in Russia and the West. The editor-in-chief of La Revue philosophique de France et de l'étranger, Yvon Bres, who was present at the defense, invited me to write for this edition a review of selected materials on Russian philosophy published in the journal Voprosy Filosofii. New issues at that time regularly came to their editorial office. I agreed, and from that moment, my correspondence acquaintance with Sergei Sergeevich began. His article "The Philosophical Process in Russia as a Meeting of Philosophy and Orthodoxy" [Хоружий 1991] aroused extraordinary interest. Sergei Sergeevich, who studied the features of the historical life being of Russia, presented a model that he considered fundamental for the development of research on the intellectual history of Russia. This coincided surprisingly with my own scientific concerns at that time. In a way, I felt like we were meant to meet and collaborate. And that is precisely what happened.
