This book explores the history of Mongolia's relations with external powers via the prism of the relationship with the UK, drawing on archival documents and other historical resources in different languages such as Russian, Chinese and Mongolian. From the early history of the Mongolian state as part of the socialist alliance, Mongolia has had relations with the UK, which was the first western nation to recognize Mongolian independence in 1963. The evolving political situation in Mongolia and the world is here refracted through the relationship with the UK. Further, it introduces readers to the cultural and ideological differences between Mongolian foreign relations belong to different historical periods. This book will be of interest to scholars of Asia, of the post-socialist world, and of the role of the UK in the world. Dr Zolboo Dashnyam is Associate Professor, Director of the Institute of International Affairs, Mongolian Academy of Sciences, Mongolia since 1997 and appointed as Director in 2018. He also served as Head of the Archival Unit at the Cabinet Secretariat, Mongolian Government and as a researcher at the National Archives of Mongolia and head of the Mongolian Centre of British Studies NGO. He received his Ph.D. in the History of Mongolian Foreign Relations from the National University of Mongolia in 2011. He was awarded by the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) fellow of the U.S. Department of State (2020), Chinese Studies fellowship of Taiwan (2018) and ITEC fellow of India (2016). He has written two monographs as an author and edited six books, and published roughly ten journal articles. He has been serving as Editor in Chief of the Journal of International Studies (in Mongolian) and the Mongolian Journal of International Affairs (in English) since 2018.

The Institute of International Studies of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, which is the oldest professional academic organization as 'Think-Tank', that exclusively carries out basic research on international studies and international relations in Mongolia, was established 55 years ago amid hard external and internal conditions of the country, and had gone through several stages.
The main purpose of this report is to summarize the main research results of the Institute of International Studies of MAS for latest 55 years, and to briefly present to you my brief conclusions and suggestions about the current state and future prospects of international studies research. The paper has consisted following parts, a. Historical background of the institution, b. A historical approach to institute research, c. Current status and future prospects of the Institute's research, d. conclusion and some proposals etc.

Монгол Улс дахь олон улс судлал, олон улсын харилцааны суурь судалгааг дагнан хэрэгжүүлэгч мэргэжлийн ууган байгууллага болох ШУА-ийн Олон улс судлалын хүрээлэн нь өдгөөгөөс 55 жилийн тэртээ улс орны гадаад, дотоод амаргүй нөхцөл байдлын дунд үүсэн байгуулагдаж, энэ түүхэн хугацаанд хөгжил, төлөвшлийн хэд хэдэн үе шатыг туулж иржээ.
Энэхүү илтгэлийн үндсэн зорилго нь ШУА-ийн Олон улс судлалын хүрээлэнгийн 55 жилийн хугацаан дахь судалгааны гол үр дүнг нэгтгэн тоймлож, хүрээлэн дэх олон улс судлалын судалгааны өнөөгийн байдал, цаашдын төлөвийн талаар дүгнэлт, саналаа Та бүхэндээ товчлон танилцуулахад чиглэгдсэн болно.

This abstract article is devoted to a review of the content of an important, new collective work of Russian Islamic scholars (authors: A.K. Alikberov, V.O. Bobrovnikov, A.K. Bustanov) "Russian Islam Essays on History and Culture" (2nd ed. , corrected and supplemented, Strategic Vision Group "Russia-Islamic World" - M.: IV RAS, 2018. - 456 p.). The content of the preface, introduction, twelve chapters and the conclusion of the work is described in detail in the article in abstract form. The author of the article emphasizes the novelty, research significance and value of work, the importance and validity of the theoretical and methodological approach of the authors to the problem of the history and culture of Islam in the Russian Federation.

In this research article, our primary objective is to pinpoint the environmental and ecological challenges arising from the development ofChina's "One Belt One Road" initiative, encompassing concerns related to energy, transportation, and logistics, along with the adverse effects on ecosystems and biodiversity. Furthermore, we seek to highlight the potential environmental tribulations confronting Mongolia within the tri-country economic corridor infrastructure project. This investigation is grounded in studies from international bodies and scholarly research findings. Our research indicates that the economic corridor, involving Mongolia, China, and Russia, emerges as an environmentally sensitive zone, susceptible to risks including those posed by climate change. Through this approach, Mongolia can establish a tripartite environmental cooperation mechanism that aligns with its green development policy, thereby facilitating long-term economic stability.

Хураангуй: Энэхүү судалгааны өгүүлэлдээ бид БНХАУ-ын "Нэг Бүс Нэг Зам" санаачилгын хүрээнд хийгдэх бүтээн байгуулалтын явцад байгаль орчин, экологийн салбарт тулгамдаж буй асуудлыг тодорхойлохыг зорилоо. Үүнд, эрчим хүч, тээвэр, логистик болоод экосистем, биологийн олон янз байдалд үзүүлэх сөрөг нөлөөллийг тусгахыг хичээлээ. This study has focused on border regions relations and cooperation between the Mongolia and Buryatia. As a border region, Buryatia has a centuries-old history of economic, political, cultural and humanitarian relations with Mongolia.Our relations have been successfully developing in all areas, high-level reciprocal visits have become regular, and mutual trust has been expanding.

Mongolia's security primarily depends on how the country develops respective bilateral relations with its neighbors and great powers including the United States. In this sense, it is important to examine U.S. foreign policy, in particular, its Asia policy as well as interests pursued by Washington while promoting bilateral relations with Mongolia, as the nexus between those parties should be considered in foreign policymaking of Mongolia. On the other hand, relations with Mongolia has been a part of U.S. policy towards the Asia-Pacific region. However, under the leadership of President Trump, the U.S. administration re-defined its policy towards the region by replacing Asia-Pacific with the label of Indo-Pacific. Only two years later since Mongolia and the United States marked the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, the two countries elevated their ties to a strategic partnership in 2019. In this article, the authors seek to explain what is the Indo-Pacific partnership and express their views.

Иймээс Америкийн гадаад бодлого, харилцаа холбоог судлах нь түүний Азид явуулж буй бодлого, түүний дотор Монголтой харилцаж буй ашиг сонирхлын уялдааг судлах, улмаар Монгол Улсын АНУ-тай харилцах бодлогыг тодорхойлоход чухал. Нөгөө талаар, Монгол Улстай харилцах нь АНУ-ын Ази, Номхон далайн бүс нутагт чиглэсэн бодлогын нэг хэсэг байсаар ирсэн. Ерөнхийлөгч Д.Трампын засаг захиргаа дээр дурдсан бүс нутгийн нэршил, ойлголтыг өөрчлөн энэ бүс нутагт чиглэсэн бодлогоо Энэтхэг-Номхон далайн стратеги хэмээн тодорхойлох болов. 1987 онд дипломат харилцаа тогтоон, гурван жилийн өмнө дипломат харилцаа тогтоосны 30 жилийн ойг өргөн хүрээнд тэмдэглэсэн Монгол-АНУ-ын харилцаа 2019 онд шат ахин "Стратегийн түншлэл" болон хэлбэржлээ. Энэхүү өгүүллийн эхний хэсэгт АНУ-ын дэвшүүлсэн Энэтхэг-Номхон далайн стратеги гэгч юу болох, энэхүү стратегийн хүрээнд Монгол-АНУ харилцааны онцлог байдлын талаар судлаачийн байр сууриа илэрхийлэв.
