PHILIPPINES: DIASPORA AND HOMELAND CONFLICT. LOCATING THE MORO DIASPORA IN THE MINDANAO INSURGENCY
In: Conflict studies quarterly: CSQ, Heft 46, S. 55-69
ISSN: 2285-7605
An ever-expanding body of literature suggests the possible link between diasporas and the exacerbation of civil wars in their home countries. One of the most notable findings on the link between diaspora and armed conflict is derived from a set of arguments known as the Greed and Grievances Thesis. According to the said framework, a higher diasporic support to a homeland conflict is positively correlated with a higher incidence of civil war intractability. Applying this framework to the data on external support to the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) insurgency from 1990–2008, the study notes that there is a lack of support from the Moro diaspora which forced the MILF to secure peace with the Philippine government. On the contrary, the increase in conflict activities during the insurgency can be qualitatively attributed to the economic and political support from hostile states and international terrorist networks that support the Moro insurgents against the Philippine government. The study concludes that there is an absence of substantial evidence on the role of the Moro diaspora in funding the insurgents due to other factors such as internal financing for the rebellion and the role of international actors in prolonging the Moro conflict. Keywords: Moro Muslims, diaspora, civil war, homeland conflict, the Philippines.

Generations, Contemporaneity, and Intersectionality in Literary History
In: Studia Universitatis Babeş-Bolyai. Philologia, Band 67, Heft 3, S. 107-120
ISSN: 2065-9652
"Generations, Contemporaneity, and Intersectionality in Literary History. While several traditional concepts of literary history, including literary periods, periodization itself, and genre, have been recently put into question and reframed in transnational, cross-temporal, and transdisciplinary ways, the notion of generation has received much less attention. At the same time, in various branches of cultural studies, and even more prominently in sociology, the problem of generations has taken center stage once again. In this article, the critic takes as her departure point Mihai Iovănel's 2021 History of Contemporary Romanian Literature: 1990-2020 to discuss how the generational operator could be employed in post-Cold War literary history. Mironescu argues that a transversal and intersectional integration of generation into contemporary literary criticism could ensure a better understanding of intra- and transgenerational dynamics in terms of self-representations and group narratives, inclusions and exclusions, as well as gender and literary affiliations. Keywords: generation, generationality, literary history, postcommunism, intersectionality"
Preliminary Criteria For Ict in Assisting Students With Psychological Problems
In: Human: research in rehabilitation, Band 14, Heft 1, S. 40-52
ISSN: 2232-996X
A rising quantity of research designates that adolescents' and students' psychological problems pose a risk to them and society. Research indicates that students frequently utilize Information and Communications Technology (ICT) services to get informed about mental health, and to resolve their psychological problems. A critical and reflective analysis of the scientific literature, and a critical examination and reflective synthesis, theories, and practice on the use of ICTs and digital media for the treatment of psychological problems have been employed in this study. The study identifies gaps in research theory and practice regarding the use of ICTs and digital services for the prevention and treatment of mental health issues among adolescents and the student population. The article proposes ten preliminary criteria for ICT use in the treatment of psychological problems as a direction for further research.

Risk Factors for Musculoskeletal Disorders in Nursing Personnel and Prevention Strategies
In: Romanian Journal of Military Medicine, Band 126, Heft 1, S. 63-70
ISSN: 2501-2312
"Objectives: Health professions such as nursing are at high risk of work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WRMDs). This study aims to present the most common WRMSDs that occur in nursing personnel, investigate the risk factors associated with their occurrence, and identify preventive and therapeutic strategies. Material and Methods: A comprehensive literature search in PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar was performed using keywords, until May 2021, while the results reported by various authors were summarized. Results: Low back discomfort (30% to 60%), neck disorders (30% to 48%), and shoulder disorders (43 to 53%) are the most common WRMSDs in nursing personnel. The major risk factors are classified as demographics and job characteristics, physical, psychosocial, and workplace organizational factors, which often co-exist and act together. WRMSDs have serious consequences such as absenteeism, reduced productivity, increased morbidity, health costs as well as lower quality of life. To reduce the incidence of WRMSDs, it is crucial to implement prevention strategies, such as ergonomic measures and training programs in high-risk nursing departments as well as immediate therapeutic approaches, where required. Organizational interventions are also required to improve the working environment in terms of assigning tasks among nursing staff, setting working hours, keeping a positive attitude, and conducting medical examinations. Conclusion: Early identification of risk factors concerning WRMSDs among nursing personnel and immediate treatment is needed to maintain their productivity as well as to provide quality nursing care, followed by evidence-based ergonomic and organizational intervention strategies for their safety and health protection.
