; [Abstract] In this paper, we will focus our attention on the analysis of urban activism. We will analyze the ways of living of bicycle activists, more specifically the emotions they display, the policies they articulate and the identities they rethink. We will try to understand how their subjectivities arise and strengthen, tracing the importance of concepts such as body, technology and mobility. Methodologically, we will use qualitative techniques such as ethnographic fieldwork, in-depth interviews and life history. Analyzing their speeches and describing their everyday life, ethnography will allow us to understand how activists produce other ways of living that try to resist -practically and symbolically- the cultural logic of neoliberalism. Finally, this work shows how a sociology and anthropology of emotions becomes useful to address contemporary processes of subjectivation in the field of social movements, and concludes that emotion, politics and identity are incessantly assembled.
; [Abstract] Contemporary Ibero-American activism will be the central matter of this article. It will be analysed historically, since the nineties, and using the methodology of ethnographic fieldwork developed from 2008 to 2013. We will examine this timeframe along with the Ibero-American spatial frame, analysing social movements such as indigenous zapatism, Spanish 15M or Mexican #YoSoy132. We will use a qualitative and multisited fieldwork, as well as an analysis of network or digital activism. The main objective will be to understand how network movements work, their context of globalization and their mobility and circulation dynamics. Finally, we will pay attention to the political value of body and space, to conclude that new traveling political cultures redraw the modern limits of culture, politics and territory, and they produce a cultural and symbolic continuum.
; [Abstract] For contemporary activism, the body is the first territory for resistance. From a multi-sited ethnography conducted in Spain and other European countries from 2008 to 2012, analysis of its political uses will lead us from the «techniques of the body» (as studied by Mauss) to tactics of the body. Moreover, in an international context of political and socio-economic crisis, the city becomes not only the scene of the action but is itself at stake. The challenge is to understand the resistance of activism based on the interrelationships of the body and the city, in the knowledge that the further the latter spreads, the greater the significance acquired by the former. From anti-globalisation to recent movements like 15M, the body and the city are gaining a remarkable importance.

; [Abstract] I will analyse the role of the city in the recent social movements from the starting account of a specific episode of my ethnographic fieldwork, developed in Copenhagen in 2009. From the end of the anti-globalization movement to the urban revolts of the second decade of the 21st century, the city has become a central object of political, social and epistemological debate. A central issue of contemporary discourses and narratives. Describing revolt and urban conflict from a symbolic and material point of view, but also semantically, I will deal with a semantics of urban conflict that reveals a narrated city composed of multiple voices and plot lines. Social conflict, inherent to the urban life and to the everyday life of activism and social movements, is analysed here from the point of view of imaginaries, histories and narratives. Contrasting the discourses of the elites to the activist ones, the processes of marketization and urban entrepreneurialism as well as the rhetoric of the brand city and the creative city will also be observed in this paper.

; [Abstract] In this article, I will focus on the everyday life of ReCiclos, a recycling and self-repair bicycle workshop linked to the Critical Mass. I will analyse the activist experiences and its relationship with the city. The workshop functions as a collective operation of technological reappropriation, based on hacks, openings and assemblages, in order –as they say– to "fill the city with bicycles". Facing a city that today is oriented outwards, the bike is presented as a symbol of change, able to oppose to this centrifugal movement (outwards) a centripetal one (inwards), reconnecting with the heart of the metropolis. Understanding bicycle activism and rethink the relationships between technology, city and politics here will be the main objectives.
Under the premise of following bodies and tracking culture, this ethnography intersects with the anthropology of the body, political anthropology, urban anthropology, and anthropology of social movements. In addition, a greater thread runs through the text: the body with the city. Here is the initial hypothesis: the body is altered by the transformations of the city, and the city can be altered by bodily action. Instrumentalized and turned into resources, the body and the city set, in the activist culture, the primal spaces in political action. The body deployed as tactical or as the bearer of tactics, and the city as stage and as a subject of dispute, are the two great protagonists. The main objectives here are to define the tactics of the body, to understand what activism is, to study the current role of the body and the city in social movements, to explain the relationship between the two, and to track the relationships of power and relationships of resistance in the activist culture.
; [Abstract] In this paper, especially settled in the first compasses of the wave of indignation that shook the streets and the Spanish squares in May of 2011, I will analyze the camp sites like heterotopies installed in the centre of the city. The new model of heterotopic politics deployed by the recent citizen movements included inside the "mark" or label #15M puts of self-evident a series of historical singularities in the contemporary forms of the politics of movement. With special attention, the analysis will focus in three concrete axes: space, time and the body. I will try to concentrate me in the subjects, the objects and the practices of relation that cross this heterotopies, stressing the politics of the body and the politics of subjectivity that #15M, since, has come improving.
; [Abstract] Globalization and transnational dynamics force citizens to become mere consumers, so their power as political actors is limited to their only participation in the market. The contemporary anthropological approach to the new social movements let us to know them not like total and individualized agents but like hybrid and decentralized networks and tissues. By this new approach I will try to grasp the voices and resistances that people build in their everyday life to counteract the power of the market. I will describe the different kinds of material, political, spatial and cultural recycling developed in a self-management bikes repair shop, where recycling is practiced as an alternative way of life and consumption. With a recreational and festive narrative the self-management bikes repair shop named ReCiclos not just propose new ways of cultural production, new experiences of active citizenship or a different relationship with ecology and urban environment, but it also shows us every week the constant recycling of the contemporary political forms.
; [Abstract] This paper discusses the last Copenhagen's climate counter summit, celebrated between 11th and 18th December 2009. I will describe the organization and the actions taken by Global Movement, and I will discuss his new directions and reconfigurations. The international crisis forces us to pay attention to the alternatives and the proposals of the social movements, at the same time that this historical moment forces them to think about themselves, about their own objectives and their own expectations. I will discuss about the different kind of demonstrations, the internal debates, and the autonomy of the movement or the new ways of political imagination, all in order to considerer the polyphony of Global Movement. This paper is a chronicle of a social movement who ten years after Seattle decided to turn possible into necessary.
