Archaeological areas in Italy and Greece restored with reinforced concrete. Assessment of its status ; Zonas arqueológicas de Italia y Grecia restauradas con hormigón armado. Valoración de su estado
[ES] This interesting study is one of the pioneers in extensively analysing the effects of reinforced concrete on the restoration of major archaeological monuments of the past in Italy and Greece. It is a privilege to be able to observe and compare the similar criteria adopted in the first half of the 20th century in many well-known places, such as the Partenon, the Palacio de Cnosos, the temple of Selflote, the city of Pompeya or the city of linde, and how the reinforced concrete that characterises all these interventions has behaved and had a negative impact on the long-term conservation of these monuments, with the current problems arising from the need to de-restore the monument.
