This paper explores, through a qualitative methodology and an ethnographic approach, the experience of lesbian motherhood, recognizing it as a genuine kinship experience, associated with the care and the time spent together. It is interpreted as a form of the "mutuality of being" in Sahlins, where the biological becomes a metaphor of something that is experienced as a process. In addition, the exercise and visibility of lesbian motherhood is socially constructed, putting into discussion myths about lesbian identity and, at the same time, actively participating in social change, perceived as a long durée process, gradually moving away from static forms of kinship and social relations, towards a vision not necessarily individualistic (based on the "freedom to choose") rather a process-like and dynamic one.
Drawing upon ethnographic research conducted in Syria between 2008 and 2011, this article explores the consequences of policies of economic reform and market liberalisation for agrarian relations of production in two different but interlinked agrarian contexts. The theoretical discussion of Marx's concept of subsumption is used as both a point of departure and arrival in the analysis. From this perspective, the Economic Reform emerges as a hegemonic project of rescaling and of reconstituting the subsumption of labour. This involved both a process of devaluation of agrarian work and workers' livelihoods, and of their disempowerment through the reorganisation of the state.

; [eng] The dissertation examines the reconfiguration of social relations of reproduction, agricultural experiences of work and moral economies in the context of the Syrian Economic Reform [Islah el lqtisadi] of the 2000 decade, from the point of view of class, gender and international division of labor. For this purpose the multisited (Beyt Jodra —Tartous- and Al-Hayat —Idlib) ethnography focused upon 1) the domestic economies of farmers (muzari') and daily-workers; 2) the institutions that regulate work-human relations between both social groups; 3) the moral economies that permeate the experiences of agricultural workers about their economic relations. In addition to the 18 months fieldwork I carried out a systemic approach to the political-economy history of Syria, starting from the nineteenth century, but focusing on the period between 1958 (Agrarian Reform) and 2000 decade (Economic Reform), and taking into account the interlocking between global, national and regional scales. Within a context of crescent (but still controlled) commodification of land and labor, the ethnography pointed up on one hand, the plurality and simultaneity of diverse economic logics and moral frameworks; and on second hand, the prevalence of very personalized labor relations (family, friendship, patronage) and historical rooted moral metaphors (cooperation, intimate solidarity, reciprocity) which structure economic practices and experiences. In my conclusion I argue that 1) these embedded forms of living and practicing economy are the expression of subaltern classes' history of struggle over reproduction which has been reenacted by the political project of Arab Socialism 2) in some cases, the increasing domination of capital over social reproduction undermine these embedded economic institutions and moral frameworks; 3) in other cases, people situated in different power positions appropriate and redefine these economic practices and meanings in terms that are functional for capital accumulation. Regarding a wider theoretical level, I discuss among others the anthropological notions of embedment, articulation, subsumption and diverse economies. I finally argue that the concept of hegemony (which articulates a form of representing and valuing the world with a specific political project in terms of power and control over resources) could capture intimate experiences of the economy where the distinction between moral and political-economic dimensions lacks sense.

This paper studies the problem of private organizations role on governance, in order to advance in the understanding of decision-making processes regarding to the assignment of private resources on public issues. In particular, from an institutionalist perspective and using polycentric governance as an analytical category, it studies the decision of some private organizations to allocate resources on public education in Antioquia, Colombia. The qualitative analysis allows asseverate that, indeed, there are multiple decision-making centers lack in articulation but, at the same time, with formal and informal scenarios to get cooperative agreements. In brief, this paper is a contribution to governance analysis on public issues from a private perspective, an issue that deserves to be more explored from government and public policies studies due to it constitutes an important matter on the public decisions processes.

; This article is a motivation surged from the Master of Education: Human Development, provided by San Buenaventura University – Cali, and La Gran Colombia University Armenia office, in order to reflect on subjectivity surged in adolescent individuals in adoptability condition.Being important to stress that adoptability condition, in most of the cases, surges on a vulnerable population of boys, girls, and adolescent individuals, who, because of social problems, are withdrawn from their biological home and placed either at institutions or substitute families in order to restablish their rights, and, who for this case, could not be adopted to join a family under a civil parental tie "as named by the Law†Article 42 to 44 of the Colombian Political Constitution, Article 61 Law 1098, 2006.However, notwithstanding being true that the Law guarantees protection of their personal and physical integrity, it is also true that subjectivity, that is, all internal processes allowing human development and subject-individual configuration, are independent and solitarily assumed, finding that it is possible for some of them to reach substitute homes that promote such subjectivations, but other should survive their emotional, moral and social problem on autonomous basis. The purpose of this reflection on subjectivation process of adolescent individuals in adoptability condition is not to judge or evaluate the outcome of such process, but highlight its importance because of dealing with individuals, who, taking into account their age and condition, deserve special attention by the State, the family and the society.

; The article covers three case studies which deal with changes in different property regimes: the regularization of an informal establishment in Salvador de Bahía; the redefinition of the sharecropping relationships in the province of Banias (Syria) introduced by the regulatory law of agriculture relations (2004); and the changes in communal property regimes in Goizueta (Navarra). With the common theme of changes brought about by different state customary and historical property regimes, it can be cross observed how this intervention leads to situations and types of management based on the same structural values and principles of a genuine (neo)liberal kind, that in very different contexts produce similar effects: instability of the occupant / agricultural worker; privilege of access to the land by purchase; tendency to maximize the yield and profit, introduction into the free market circulation, etc. Likewise, the three case studies shown together allow us to explore the contradictions, oppositions and resistances that cross the establishment of the (neo)liberal dominance, showing the shared elements, as well as the characteristics that conform those other political projects that confront, in different social-historical contexts, the liberalizing process.

Cooperation practices are the backbone of human society's social and material reproduction. The neoclassical discourse has attempted to hide the importance of cooperation in social and material reproduction. Nevertheless, human history offers plenty of examples where reciprocity, cooperation and/or solidarity are the core of economic practices. We aim to address these issues through two ethnographic examples. The first case analyzes discourses and practices that emerge in proximity to food provisioning networks composed of consumers' food cooperatives and small organic food producers. The second case examines the path of a financial services cooperative, Coop57. Its financial role in the cooperative and associative arena seeks to stimulate a social transformation where the foundations of the economy (financing, consumption, production and redistribution) connect each other into a network to bring about a more powerful change in the dominant socioeconomic relations. These cooperative practices can be read both: 1) as a place of struggle for life which flourishes at the interstices of capitalist colonization for profit and 2) as an object of a capitalist project of integration of social reproduction in its extended accumulation process. We oppose this perspective to the concept of "diverse economies" and discuss the heuristic value of the idea of hegemonic dispute in everyday life for thinking about these cooperative practices.

Neoklasični diskurz je poskušal zakriti pomen medsebojenga sodelovanja v družbenoekonomskih odnosih, vendar je v človeški zgodovini veliko primerov, ko so vzajemnost, sodelovanje in solidarnost v središču ekonomskih praks.Prispevek izpostavi dva etnografska primera.

The formulation of coffee blends is of paramount importance for the coffee industry, as it provides the product with an expressive ability to compete in the market and adds sensory attributes that complement the consumption experience. Through redundancy analysis and canonical correspondence analysis, it is possible to study the relationships between a set of sensory notes and a set of blends with different proportions of coffee variety through multivariate linear regression models. However, it is unrealistic to assume that such sensory responses are given linearly in relation to the formulation of the blends, since some coffee species have greater weight in the sensory evaluation (quadratic terms) and the effect of the mixtures (term of interaction). With this motivation, this work aims to propose the use of redundancy analysis and nonlinear correspondence analysis through multivariate polynomial regression to evaluate the acceptance of different varieties of coffee blends according to the scores given by the evaluators. Finally, it is concluded that there were gains in the percentage of total explained variance in the polynomial models in relation to the classic models.
