L'articolo intende partire dal concetto di automatismo insito nel luogo comune, inteso nella sua accezione più ampia, per enucleare alcuni punti fondamentali della riflessione di Jean Paulhan, direttore della NRF negli anni centrali del Novecento, anche alla luce del contributo di Henri Meschonnic in relazione al proverbio in quanto atto linguistico caratterizzato da ri-enunciabilità. Le considerazioni sul ritmo che ne conseguono, già sfruttate dalle sperimentazioni linguistiche di Paulhan e da dadaisti e surrealisti, vanno nella direzione di riscoprire il côté intersoggettivo che, quale fonte nascosta alla base del luogo comune, permette anche di mettere in discussione e rivitalizzare i cliché stessi. Rielaborazione che funziona da specola nei confronti dei pregiudizi e degli automatismi nascosti nel linguaggio. Verranno così evidenziati i punti di contatto tra la fonte nascosta che sostanzia il luogo comune, il défigement operato da Robert Desnos e le tele di Edward Hopper.

Questa tesi specialistica si propone il compito di raffrontare le tematiche di fondo di un filosofo francese, Michel Foucault, e di uno letterato italiano, Primo Levi, circa la letteratura, la storia e la verità. Il filo conduttore sarà quello di pensare alla letteratura non soltanto come ad un atto di resistenza politica, ma come ad una vera e propria trasformazione etica che ha la pretesa di un respiro universale. Michel Foucault ha abbandonato, nel corso del suo impegno intellettuale, gli strumenti strutturalisti per analizzare le formazioni discorsive dell'epoca moderna e, dopo aver considerato la letteratura, in particolare quella di Blanchot, uno spazio possibile di libertà e un'opportunità per trasformare la propria argomentazione in chiave politica, si è concentrato sulla possibilità etica di un cambiamento del sé e del rapporto con gli altri. L'argomentazione si è è proposta di intrecciare l'analisi foucaultiana a partire dagli Anni Sessanta fino all'ultimo corso tenuto al Collège de France, Le courage de la vérité, con l'attività letteraria di Primo Levi per far emergere una nuova possibile prospettiva letteraria, storica e veridica che sintetizzi il loro impegno intellettuale. Dal punto di vista letterario, è emersa la differenza fra una predilezione verso uno stile nietzscheano di Blanchot, di Celan e di Foucault e uno stile scientifico e descrittivo di Primo Levi; successivamente si è considerato la prospettiva storica di Foucault e come si sia trasformata da archeologia a genealogia fino a divenire ontologia e la prospettiva di Primo Levi, impegnata a difendere la verità storica della Shoah contro la tesi negazionista; in ultima istanza è stata proposta la differenza fra il rischio che intercorre fra il parresiasta dell'ultimo Foucault e il rischio della testimonianza di Primo Levi.

This paper deals with the issue of testing hypotheses in symmetric and log‐symmetric linear regression models in small and moderate‐sized samples. We focus on four tests, namely, the Wald, likelihood ratio, score, and gradient tests. These tests rely on asymptotic results and are unreliable when the sample size is not large enough to guarantee a good agreement between the exact distribution of the test statistic and the corresponding chi‐squared asymptotic distribution. Bartlett and Bartlett‐type corrections typically attenuate the size distortion of the tests. These corrections are available in the literature for the likelihood ratio and score tests in symmetric linear regression models. Here, we derive a Bartlett‐type correction for the gradient test. We show that the corrections are also valid for the log‐symmetric linear regression models. We numerically compare the various tests and bootstrapped tests, through simulations. Our results suggest that the corrected and bootstrapped tests exhibit type I probability error closer to the chosen nominal level with virtually no power loss. The analytically corrected tests as well as the bootstrapped tests, including the Bartlett‐corrected gradient test derived in this paper, perform with the advantage of not requiring computationally intensive calculations. We present a real data application to illustrate the usefulness of the modified tests.

Tra tutte le forme di comunicazione, il discorso politico è quello che probabilmente ha risentito di più dei cambiamenti sociali e tecnologici dell'ultimo quarto di secolo. Nel passaggio tra la Prima e la Seconda Repubblica i nuovi format proposti dalla televisione commerciale hanno determinato un avvicinamento – anche linguistico – dei leader politici al loro elettorato. L'esposizione continua dei politici in TV in contesti dialogici di fronte a un pubblico sempre più partecipe ha probabilmente contribuito all'abbassamento del registro utilizzato, a sua volta sempre più lontano dalla formalità paludata delle vecchie Tribune elettorali. E l'avvicinamento della lingua dei politici a quella dei cittadini comuni è proseguito con l'avvento dei social media, dai blog a Facebook e Twitter, soprattutto come conseguenza della ricerca della brevità dei messaggi e della rafforzata interazione con i lettori. Alle stesse ragioni si può ricondurre la polarizzazione delle posizioni ideologiche e la semplificazione argomentativa. Questo volume illustra gli ultimi sviluppi della comunicazione politica in Italia tramite quattro studi su alcuni dei leader che negli ultimi anni si sono dimostrati tra i più innovativi, anche grazie all'efficace sfruttamento dei nuovi mezzi di comunicazione: Luigi Di Maio, Beppe Grillo, Matteo Renzi e Matteo Salvini.

We consider the issue of performing residual and local influence analyses in beta regression models with varying dispersion, which are useful for modelling random variables that assume values in the standard unit interval. In such models, both the mean and the dispersion depend upon independent variables. We derive the appropriate matrices for assessing local influence on the parameter estimates under different perturbation schemes. An application using real data is presented and discussed.

We develop three corrected score tests for generalized linear models with dispersion covariates, thus generalizing the results of Cordeiro, Ferrari and Paula (1993) and Cribari‐Neto and Ferrari (1995). We present, in matrix notation, general formulae for the coefficients which define the corrected statistics. The formulae only require simple operations on matrices and can be used to obtain analytically closed‐form corrections for score test statistics in a variety of special generalized linear models with dispersion covariates. They also have advantages for numerical purposes since our formulae are readily computable using a language supporting numerical linear algebra. Two examples, namely, iid sampling without covariates on the mean or dispersion parameter oand one‐way classification models, are given. We also present some simulations where the three corrected tests perform better than the usual score test, the likelihood ratio test and its Bartlett corrected version. Finally, we present a numerical example for a data set discussed by Simonoff and Tsai (1994).

Background: Evidence exists supporting the impact of the Great Recession on health-related behaviors internationally, though few studies are available concerning the Italian population. Aim: To assess the impact of the late 2000s economic crisis on health-related behaviors linked to population mental health in Italy. Methods: Descriptive study. Health indicators came from the Italian Institute of Statistics database (years 2000–2015). Statistics performed by means of linear regression models. Results: Increased smokers (β = 1.68, p = .03), heavy smokers, that is, people smoking 11–20 cigarettes per day (β = 2.18, p = .04) or more than 20 cigarettes per day (β = 1.04, p < .01) and mean number of smoked cigarettes per day (β = 0.56, p = .02) were noticeable. Also, prevalence of overweight increased (β = 0.91, p = .04), while the Italian families' expenditure for alcoholic beverages decreased (β = –812.80, p = .01). Alcohol consumption decreased (β = –0.60, p < .01), especially in men (β = –0.95, p < .01); binge drinking increased in years 2009–2010. No change was noticeable in the diet indicators collected. Conclusion: The economic crisis may have increased smoking, overweight and binge drinking in Italy (though data on the latter phenomenon are not conclusive), and reduced overall alcohol consumption.

Background: Since the Mental Health Reform Law 1978/180, in Italy mental hospitals have been progressively closed and a community-centred psychiatric care oriented to rehabilitation began. After almost 35 years, the de-institutionalization process is now complete. However, psychosocial interventions in the community are provided only rarely, although a specific mental health professional, the psychiatric rehabilitation technician, has been established in Italy. Material: Training courses and the education of psychosocial rehabilitation technicians have been analysed and the university degree has been described. Moreover, the practical and theoretical skills needed at the end of the training course have been discussed. Discussion: Psychiatric rehabilitation technicians are trained to perform multidisciplinary rehabilitative and educational interventions for people with severe mental disorders and their carers. They represent an innovative professional workforce in mental health care, not yet established outside Italy, whose role and activities are essential in a community-based mental health system model. Conclusion: The skills needed for properly performing psychosocial interventions are not available in other mental health professionals and it is not possible that these interventions, which require in-depth training, are performed by professionals with a different background. It is advisable that psychiatric rehabilitation technicians become an integral and permanent component of an efficient community psychiatric staff.

Background: The recovery model in mental health care emphasizes users' right to be involved in key decisions of their care, including choice of one's primary mental health professional (PMHP). Aims: The aim of this article was to provide a scoping review of the literature on the topic of users' choice, request of change and preferences for the PMHP in community mental health services. Method: A search of the PubMed, Cochrane Library, Web of Science and PsycINFO for papers in English was performed. Additional relevant research articles were identified through the authors' personal bibliography. Results: A total of 2,774 articles were screened and 38 papers were finally included. Four main aspects emerged: (1) the importance, for users, to be involved in the choice of their PMHP; (2) the importance, for users, of the continuity of care in the relationship with their PMHP; (3) factors of the user/PMHP dyad influencing users' preferences; and (4) the effect of choice on the treatment outcomes. Conclusion: While it is generally agreed that it is important to consider users' preferences in choosing or requesting to change their PMHP, little research on this topic is available. PMHPs' and other stakeholders' views should also be explored in order to discuss ethical and practical issues.
