Purpose
As nowadays the knowledge economy puts a strong emphasis on the universities' role in the present economy, the recent challenge focuses on the interrelations between entrepreneurship culture and academic engagement. This study aims to investigate the new role that universities are assuming as entrepreneurial entities and gather information taking place internal university stakeholders and students' perception on entrepreneurship education. The research hypothesis stands entrepreneurship is mainly supposed as being professionally and educationally active rather than setting up a company.


Design/methodology/approach
The present study carries out a study on the perception of entrepreneurship education conducted among students of the University of Economics in Krakow in the winter semester of the academic year 2017/2018. The selected target group meets the criteria of the different national country origin of the respondents. Another criterion for selecting the target group was diversity in the field of students' academic interests.


Findings
The results of the study give a clear view of the still valid confirmation of the growing academic role in terms of entrepreneurship culture development that appears necessary to address the demand for global competitiveness. In particular, it is possible to categorize two groups of people, moderate and strong supporters of recognition that entrepreneurship is not only about starting a company but also at the same time that it is an expression of its own dynamic and entrepreneurial attitudes.


Practical implications
As the importance of entrepreneurship in the context of an entrepreneurial university is rising and the definition of entrepreneurship goes beyond its understanding of starting a business, universities and academic engagement can and have to better address and focus their planning of the courses and their contents.


Originality/value
The study sheds some light and gives some interesting perspectives on the issue of different levels of entrepreneurship education expectations against different levels at which this education should be provided. In addition, it is in line with the EU entrepreneurship competence framework (EntreComp) aimed at defining tools to improve the entrepreneurial capacity and culture of EU citizens and organizations by means of consensus among stakeholders and by establishing a bond between education and study.

Purpose. The main purpose of the research is to investigate the role of the marketing strategies and to verify if adopting a set of marketing strategies matching the company's operation to can be a successful way to generate growth in sales and loyal customers for all sized businesses. Design/Method/Approach. This research consists of a systematic literature review of academic articles compatible with the marketing field topics. A hypothesis is designed based on a theoretical framework and two case studies are investigated. It is tested through applying examples of two renowned companies, Xerox and HubSpot, that adopted their preferred set of marketing techniques and gained higher profits and larger loyal customer segments. Findings. Based on collected data and its analysis, it can be said that following correctly selected marketing techniques can lead to increased sales and loyal consumers. Practical implications. Companies' marketing policies about choosing marketing channels needs to carefully be monitored and updated in order to reach long-term successful effects. Originality/Value. The negotiation process between buyer and seller is strict, long-term and complex in business. Subsequently, selling the product is not sufficient if the buyers do not get offered good quality services to leave them pleased and consequently loyal in the long term. Thus, this research analyses the positive impact marketing techniques can have in the sales processes and in the customer loyalty. Paper type - empirical.

Innovation is one of the key strategies proposed in the literature and economic policies as a crucial driver of the agro-food sector. Innovation, especially in the agricultural sector, is not manifested only as an adoption of new technologies, but also requires a balance between new practices, techniques and alternative ways to organize and manage markets, labour, land tenure and distribution of benefits. In this context, the Economic Conventions (EC) have found fertile ground for coordination in the agro-food sector. Starting from a recent work by Malafaia et al. (2010) on the EC and the mechanisms of coordination, the paper analyzes the Integrated Projects of Food Chain (IPFs) approved by the Apulia region. The data collection was carried out through interviews and meetings with various actors in the supply chain and via Territory Listening Plane analysis, in order to identify the types of formalized or non formalized coordination, practiced by the agents. Further challenges are the definition and the identification of the forms of coordination set up by agents of the supply chains of IPFs via the implementation of the economic/computer/management model, which leads to the development of new business processes and to the validation of a prototype model of knowledge transfer and check-ups. In the end of the paper, conclusions are drawn. ; Inovacijų skatinimas yra viena pagrindinių žemės ūkio ir maisto sektoriaus plėtros strategijų, pateikiamų literatūroje bei ekonomikos politikoje. Inovacijomis žemės ūkyje laikoma ne tik naujų technologijų įsisavinimas, bet ir naujų geros praktikos pavyzdžių, alternatyvių rinkos organizavimo ir valdymo metodų taikymas, tinkamas darbo išteklių, žemės ir kitų gėrybių paskirstymas. Šiame kontekste ekonominės konvencijos (EK) yra koordinavimo žemės ūkio sektoriuje pagrindas. Neseniai atliktoje EK ir koordinavimo mechanizmų studijoje (Malafaia et al. 2010) išnagrinėti integruoti maisto grandinės projektai (IMGP), patvirtinti Apulijos regione. Duomenys buvo surinkti interviu būdu bei suorganizavus įvairius suinteresuotųjų asmenų maisto grandinėje atstovus siekiant nustatyti formalizuoto ir neformalizuoto koordinavimo tipus tarp šioje grandinėje veikiančių agentų. Kitas svarbus iššūkis, analizuojamas šiame straipsnyje, yra nustatyti ir identifikuoti koordinavimo formas IMGP tiekimo grandinėje įgyvendinant ekonominį kompiuterinį valdymo modelį, kuris leidžia įgyvendinti naujus verslo procesus bei įvertinti modelio validumą žinių perdavimui ir patikrinimui.

Purpose
This study aims to explore whether the blockchain technology (BCT), as a unique and distinctive resource, affects the development of unique capabilities and the integration and reconfiguration of internal physical and human resources necessary to gain a trusted competitive advantage.


Design/methodology/approach
A case study approach has been used to identify the internal resources and capabilities that affect the decision to implement BCT and to determine whether this new technology can become a strategic internal resource in the wine industry.


Findings
Results show the role of two strategic resources: human resources, such as IT specialists and software developers for BCT applications, and skills of companies' management to grant sensitive and confidential data to IT specialists and the ability to read the analytics from the BCT application, becoming a distinctive enabling assets.


Research limitations/implications
The main limitation of this study is related to the analysis of a single case, which, on the one hand, does not allow generalisation of the empirical findings but, on the other hand, is themost appropriatemethod for the explorative nature of this research.


Practical implications
Our findings have useful practical implications for wineries and agri-food companies in overall because they can support managers and entrepreneurs in effectively implementing these innovative digital technologies in their valuecreation process.


Originality/value
The study of this underexplored topic gives interesting insights into the resources needed for the successful adoption of this emerging technology, which can support wineries in improving the value-creating process. In particular, compared to the previous studies, this research analyses the adoption process under the resource-based theory lens.

The COVID-19 pandemic has been a major stress test for the agri-food system. While most research has analysed the impact of the pandemic on mainstream food systems, this article examines how alternative and local food systems (ALFS) in 13 countries responded in the first months of the crisis. Using primary and secondary data and combining the Multi-Level Perspective with social innovation approaches, we highlight the innovations and adaptations that emerged in ALFS, and how these changes have created or supported the sustainability transition in production and consumption systems. In particular, we show how the combination of social and technological innovation, greater citizen involvement, and the increased interest of policy-makers and retailers have enabled ALFS to extend their scope and engage new actors in more sustainable practices.
