Die Dissertation zielt darauf ab zu verstehen, wie Individuen ihre Biografie mit vergangenen und gegenwärtigen kollektiven Ereignissen verknüpfen. Mithilfe des Konzepts der generationellen Erzählung werden die Lebensgeschichten von Personen, die nach dramatischen, von politischer Gewalt gekennzeichneten Zeiträumen in Chile und Argentinien geboren wurden, untersucht. Generationelle 'stories' in zwei Ländern werden recherchiert, um die verschiedenen politischen Entwicklungen, wirtschaftliche Divergenzen und kulturelle Unterschiede zu verdeutlichen. Die Dissertation zeigt, wie die kollektiven Gedächtnisse und Vergangenheitsbewältigungen der Diktaturen mit neoliberalen Wirtschaftsreformen, politischer Polarisierung und sozialen Bewegungen verstrickt sind. Jede 'generationelle Lage' bietet einen Plot (Erzählform), der vergangene Ereignisse und die Bedeutungszuschreibung der aktuelle Umstände umfasst. Die Arbeit beleuchtet Maurice Halbwachs Begriff 'The living bond of Generations', i.e.– die Verbindung von Vergangenheit und Gegenwart durch generationelle Beziehungen, Gedächtnisse und Narrative. ; This dissertation aims to understand how people connect their biographies with historical and recent collective events. Through the concept of generational narratives, life-stories of individuals born after dramatic periods of political violence in Argentina and Chile, are examined. By recounting two generations' stories in two post-dictatorial countries, political paths, economic divergences, and cultural differences are disclosed. In these contexts, collective memories of and processes of coming to terms with those difficult pasts are entangled in periods of neoliberal economic transformation, political polarization as well as youth mobilization. Every 'generational site' brings to the fore a narrative plot which encompasses past events and present processes of meaning attribution. The investigation shed lights on Maurice Halbwachs' notion of 'the living bond of generations', i.e., how past and present times are lively connected through generational bonds, memories and stories.

Abstract
This article outlines a framework for studying practices of boundary-making as pivotal to the various ways in which "rights" become objects of contention and sources of narrativization in contemporary constitutional democracies. Firstly, we reconsider the dynamics of boundary-making that underline polarization by drawing on the notion of "moral economy". This concept is well-suited for making sense of how social groups draw lines of demarcation through the appropriation, circulation, and confrontation of values and emotions. However, we argue that the concept must be enriched by acknowledging the generative role of narratives. Hence, we introduce the notion of "narrative boundaries" for comprehending how moral economies are produced by storytelling practices. Based on this, we explore the paradoxical moral economy of constitutional struggles. While the discourse of rights pursues modes of inclusion, the struggles over their demarcation often result in narratives that build fences that reinforce the division between almost irreconcilable normative worlds.

In a context of multiple crises, an important number of people with disability competed to participate in drafting a new constitution in a remote Latin American country. Their experience shows how the way of looking at disability is structured. Based on interviews with candidates to be members of the Chilean constitutional convention, the study examines how they react to contemptuous, deindividualizing, and assistencialist ways of looking that devalue, invisibilize, and cancel them. However, both on the streets and in digital networks, they deploy strategies to counteract this "distribution of the sensible." An adaptative strategy seeks assimilation through a "we are not different" and "we are equally capable" response to looking. A second strategy, based on differentiation, seeks to build recognition of uniqueness, with candidates hoping to receive a look that recognizes them and allows them to position themselves as leaders to follow: "I saw you, I recognize you, I follow you."

Once again the concept of populism is en vogue, partly due to the fact that leaders such as Chávez in Venezuela and Berlusconi in Italy have come to power. However, the Social Sciences have serious problems in defining populism and elaborating a political theory to grasp this phenomenon. The present article attempts to fill this void. It is divided into two sections. The first part presents a historical analysis of the concept of populism, which demonstrates that it has been used to tackle a set of ambivalences immanent to all political order. The second part elaborates an ideal-typical definition of populism and offers a theoretical outline of this phenomenon. The proposed theory transcends the demonisation or divinisation of populism; it offers a perspective that helps to comprehend rather than pass a normative judgment on the concept. ; Una vez más el concepto de populismo se ha puesto de moda, lo cual se debe en parte a la irrupción de líderes como Chávez en Venezuela o Berlusconi en Italia. Sin embargo, las Ciencias Sociales tienen un problema serio para definir qué es el populismo y para elaborar una teoría política sobre este fenómeno. El presente artículo enfrenta este problema y para ello se divide en dos apartados. En primer lugar, se ofrece un análisis histórico del concepto de populismo que demuestra que dicho término ha sido utilizado para tematizar una serie de ambivalencias inmanentes a todo orden político. En segundo lugar, se elabora una definición típico ideal del populismo y se propone un esbozo de una teoría política de este fenómeno. La teoría propuesta trasciende la usual demonización o divinización del populismo, en cuanto desarrolla una perspectiva que ayuda a comprenderlo antes que a juzgarlo normativamente.

Resumen¿Qué hacen los trabajadores asalariados para responder a situaciones de injusticia en sus lugares de trabajo? Este artículo examina distintos repertorios de acción desplegados por trabajadores en el contexto laboral chileno, caracterizado por altos niveles de desigualdad salarial y una débil estructura sindical. Se analizan ocho grupos focales en los cuales trabajadores conversaron acerca de cómo responder a injusticias percibidas en el mundo laboral. Se identifican cinco repertorios que cuentan con diversos grados de legitimidad según el nivel socioeconómico del grupo: neoliberal,managerial, sindical, fatalista y resiliente. Se argumenta que el repertorio neoliberal ofrece a los grupos profesionales una mayor capacidad de respuesta ante injusticias distributivas y procedimentales, mientras que el repertorio resiliente ofrecería a trabajadores no calificados un set de herramientas culturales para hacer frente a los agravios a la dignidad en los lugares de trabajo. Los grupos de supervisores adoptarían en mayor medida un repertoriomanagerial, impulsados por gestionar el clima laboral en contextos de baja legitimidad de los sindicatos y miedo al conflicto. Se concluye que en contextos laborales fuertemente desregulados, como el caso chileno, una apropiación diferenciada de repertorios podría contribuir a reforzar las desigualdades existentes en el trabajo.

El estudio de las atribuciones de pobreza y riqueza ha tenido un rol central en la literatura sobre la justificación de las desigualdades sociales. La investigación en esta área ha explorado en qué medida se usan razones individualistas versus estructuralistas para explicar por qué ciertas personas logran posiciones más precarias o aventajadas que el resto. En esa línea, este artículo busca dar cuenta de cómo cambian en el tiempo estas razones, en el contexto de una sociedad que ha tenido grandes transformaciones estructurales en las últimas décadas, donde además se mantiene una alta desigualdad de ingresos, como es el caso de la sociedad chilena. Tomando dos encuestas con representatividad nacional de los años 1996 y 2015, los resultados indican en un primer nivel descriptivo que han aumentado las atribuciones individualistas sobre el origen de la pobreza y la riqueza —tales como la falta de esfuerzo y la iniciativa personal— y que han bajado las razones de carácter estructural —como el desempleo o las políticas económicas—. No obstante, a través de un análisis de clases latentes (LCA), se ofrece una segunda aproximación más matizada a este fenómeno, mostrando que la baja de atribuciones estructurales se asocia al aumento de personas que atribuyen tanto razones individualistas como estructurales a la pobreza y riqueza, predominando una combinación de ambas a la hora de significar estos hechos. Estos cambios en los patrones de atribución se discuten en el marco de las transformaciones económicas y culturales de la sociedad chilena.

Abstract
In September 2022, Chileans overwhelmingly rejected the draft of a new constitution to replace the inherited from
Pinochet's dictatorship. Existing explanations attribute the failure to a mixture of ill-designed procedures, political dynamics,
and ideological distortions and fake news. However, we argue for a different interpretation, emphasizing the collision of
normative worlds in the struggle for demarcating rights. Through narrative analysis of social media stories during the referendum
campaign, we investigate distinct moral economies around the constitutional debate on housing rights. These reveal a tension
between divergent rights claims anchored in the value of "ownership" versus "dignity." Within these almost irreconcilable
normative universes, private property condenses meanings across narratives: the value of personal home-ownership effort and the
collective aspiration for decent housing access. While not inherently incompatible, these narratives evolved into polarizing
channels through which property became the defining moral boundary that underlies the stories shaping Chile's constitutional
struggle over rights.
