This study explores the various influences on journalistic expression in Ghana and their implications for the reader. It looks at the sometimes incomprehensible writing due to bad grammar that occur in Ghanaian newspapers. The study also explores the connection between newspaper language and politics by analysing some of the stylistic choices which project ideological positions. Finally, the study aims at discovering attitudes to language among editors and other "gatekeepers" and seeks to evaluate these attitudes against the performance of their publications. (DÜI-Hff)
