Straipsnyje analizuojamos neformalios edukacinės veiklos raiškos miesto parke prielaidos remiantis konkrečiu atveju. Siekiant, kad miestų parkai būtų vertinami kaip priimtiniausias variantas miestų bendruomenės nariams tenkinti edukacinius poreikius ir jų dermę su saviraiškos ir rekreaciniais poreikiais, svarbu tirti parko lankytojų požiūrį į tai, kokios veiklos jiems būtų prieinamos, patrauklios ir skatintų tobulėti. Parkų edukacinės veiklos kontekste aktualizuojama būtinybė tirti parkų lankytojų poreikius ir jais remiantis numatyti siekiamą rezultatą, užtikrinti turinio ir veiklos metodų dermę, ieškoti įžvalgų, leisiančių tobulinti miesto parkų edukacines veiklas. Šiandien vykdoma edukacinė veikla Lietuvos miestų parkuose labiau orientuota į formaliojo ugdymo tikslų siekį ir menkai tekreipia dėmesio į kitus gyvenamosios vietos bendruomenės narių edukacinius poreikius. Miesto parkuose vykdomos veiklos neatliepia skirtingų bendruomenės grupių edukacinių poreikių, jos orientuotos į rekreacinių poreikių tenkinimą, o vietos parkų edukacinis potencialas lieka neišnaudotas. Minėti aspektai leidžia manyti, kad aktualu analizuoti ne tik bendras parkų neformaliosios edukacijos prielaidas, bet tirti ir konkretaus parko edukacinės veiklos patirtį, analizuoti vietos bendruomenės narių požiūrį. Tai ir nulemia straipsnio edukacinę problematiką. Tikslas – remiantis Kuršėnų miesto parko atveju empiriškai ištirti edukacinės veiklos raiškos patirtį ir jos prielaidas miesto parke bei numatyti tobulinimo galimybes.Atliktas tyrimas iliustruoja, kad šiandien miesto parkas, kaip biologinė, socialinė, kultūrinė struktūra, turi praktinę išraišką ir, tobulinant atskirus jos segmentus, gali skatinti bendruomenės narių sociokultūrinį aktyvumą, dalyvaujant įvairiuose renginiuose ar individualiai.

The feature of modern world is superfluity of information therefore, it is necessary to generalize it. There are presented reports that initiated the most of discussions. The subjects do not encompass plenty of educational problems analyzed in the conference. The representatives of scientific committee stressing the increased level of conference participants, new paradigmatic thinking, problematic and critical level of reports emphasized the following problems: relevance of integration of Lithuanian higher education into general environment of the European Union and the analysis of the situation; the spread of theoretical and empirical researches of the quality of university and non-university teacher training; the problems of creating a quality system in higher education; experience of teacher training reform in Latvia, Ukraine, Croatia, Russia, the USA; the relevance of adults training; the world experience of study quality evaluation, emphasizing similarities and differences of various countries; the objective to get acquainted with various models of modern teacher training, analyzing the organization of studies, communication with students, qualification of lecturers, development and management of studies, the system of quality guarantee, achievement and evaluation of goals. Exceptional attention was paid to preschool and pre-primary education problems and possibilities to solve them. The context of European documents regulating the system of higher education (Bologna process, Lisbon Strategy, Salamanka Convention, etc.) and in the context of analysis of the Lithuanian strategic guidelines of the change of higher education, the possibilities of Lithuanian study guarantee, shifting to knowledge based economy and creative society were discussed.

The researchers of the world increasingly often state that "new children" have come with extraordinary mental, emotional, spiritual and other powers. Meanwhile the researches carried out in Lithuania more and more often convince the society that our children are "the most aggressive", "the most unhappy" in Europe or even in the world. However, often these researches are based not on children's but on the very adults' opinion about them. Therefore, the scientists researching the field of childhood sometimes find it difficult to believe in the given facts because often doubts arise as to both the very culture of the researchers and their philosophy because in the countries where dominating relationships with children are authoritarian the researchers sometimes seek to "correct" or reorganise the children's world and not to cognize it. Therefore, they particularly emphasize not positive but negative facts, phenomena of children's life or behaviour.
