La résistance des bactéries aux antibiotiques constitue un des problèmes majeurs de santé publique au monde,et elle est en partie liée à leur utilisation massive et inappropriée en médecine humaine et animale.Depuis la fin des années 1990, différentes recommandations de bon usage des antibiotiques ont été émises auxniveaux international, européen, national et régional.A l'hôpital Brabois Adultes du CHU de Nancy, la politique de bon usage des antibiotiques a été renforcée en2006 par la mise en place d'une ordonnance nominative spécifique pour tous les antibiotiques et tous lesservices et par la création d'une équipe opérationnelle en infectiologie (EOI) associant infectiologues etpharmaciens.Nous avons réalisé un bilan de l'évolution des prescriptions d'antibiotiques et des interventions de l'EOI dansles différents services de soins pour la période 2006-2012 à travers différents indicateurs de bon usage. Le butde ce travail est également de préciser le rôle du pharmacien et de l'équipe et de proposer des améliorations àla situation actuelle s'il y a lieu.Pour cela, nous avons analysé les données de traçabilité collectées quotidiennement au sein de la pharmacieconcernant la conformité des prescriptions antibiotiques et les interventions réalisées.Entre 2006 et 2012, près de 130000 ordonnances antibiotiques ont été validées par les pharmaciens, avec 85%de conformité aux recommandations, et 3288 interventions ont été réalisées au cours de cette même période,avec un taux d'acceptation qui avoisine les 80%.Les principales causes d'intervention sont une « posologie inadaptée » et une « antibiothérapie inadaptée à labactérie ou à la situation clinique ». Certains problèmes sont en diminution comme les « associations sansintérêt ». Les classes thérapeutiques les plus incriminées sont aussi les plus consommées comme lesfluoroquinolones ou les céphalosporines de 3ème génération. L'analyse des problèmes rencontrés selon lesservices de soins nous a permis de distinguer des niveaux de risque de « mésusage » des antibiotiques ...

This thesis focuses on model selection in Machine Learning from two points of view. The first part of the thesis focuses on relational kernel methods. Kernel methods hope to overcome the instances propositionalization, and to bridge the gap between relational and propositional problems. This thesis examines this objective in a particular case: the multiple instance problem, which is considered to be intermediate between relational and propositional problems. Concretely, we determine under which conditions the averaging kernel used for multiple instance problems, allows to reconstruct the target concept. This study follows the standard sketch of phase transition studies and relies on a new criterion to test the efficiency of of the propositionalization induced by the averaging kernel. The second part of the thesis focuses on feature selection. A solution to solve multiple instance problems, as presented in the first part, is to construct a propositionalization where each instance of the problem leads to a feature. This propositionalization constructs a huge number of features, which implies the need to look for a subset of features with only relevant features. Thus, the second part of the thesis presents a new framework for feature selection. Feature Selection is formalized as a Reinforcement Learning problem, leading to a provably optimal though intractable selection policy. This optimal policy is approximated, based on a one-player game approach and relying on the Monte-Carlo tree search UCT (Upper Confidence bound applied to Trees) proposed by Kocsis and Szepesvari (2006). The Feature Uct SElection (FUSE) algorithm extends UCT to deal with i) a finite unknown horizon (the target number of relevant features); ii) the huge branching factor of the search tree, reflecting the size of the feature set. Finally, a frugal reward function is proposed as a rough but unbiased estimate of the relevance of a feature subset. A proof of concept of FUSE is shown on benchmark data sets. ; Nous nous intéressons à la sélection de modèle en apprentissage automatique, sous deux angles différents. La première partie de la thèse concerne les méthodes à noyau relationnel. Les méthodes à noyau permettent en principe de s'affranchir de la représentation des instances, et de combler le fossé entre apprentissage relationnel et apprentissage propositionnel. Cette thèse s'intéresse à la faisabilité de cet objectif dans un cas particulier : les problèmes à instances multiples, qui sont considérés comme un intermédiaire entre les problèmes propositionnels et les problèmes relationnels. Concrètement, nous déterminons sous quelles conditions le noyau-somme, utilisé sur des problèmes à instances multiples, est en mesure de reconstruire le concept-cible. Cette étude suit le schéma standard des études de transition de phase et s'appuie sur un critère nouveau pour caractériser l'efficacité de la propositionnalisation induite par le noyau-somme. La deuxième partie de la thèse porte sur la sélection d'attributs. Une solution pour résoudre les problèmes à instances multiples, tels que présentés en première partie, passe par une propositionnalisation associant un attribut à chaque instance présente dans le problème. Le nombre d'attributs ainsi construits étant gigantesque, il est alors nécessaire de sélectionner un sous-ensemble d'attributs ne contenant que des attributs pertinents. La deuxième partie de la thèse propose donc une nouvelle approche pour la sélection d'attributs. La sélection d'attributs est réécrite comme un problème d'apprentissage par renforcement, conduisant ainsi à une politique de sélection optimale mais non-calculable en un temps raisonnable. Cette politique est approchée en se fondant sur une approche de jeu à un joueur et en utilisant la méthode Monte-Carlo pour les arbres UCT (Upper Confidence bound applied to Trees), qui a été proposée par Kocsis et Szepesvari (2006). L'algorithme FUSE (Feature Uct SElection) étend UCT pour gérer (1) l'horizon fini mais inconnu, et (2) le facteur de branchement élevé de l'arbre de recherche reflétant la taille de l'ensemble d'attributs. Finalement, une fonction de récompense frugale est proposée en tant qu'estimation grossière mais non-biaisée de la pertinence d'un sous-ensemble d'attributs. Une preuve de concept de FUSE est fournie sur des bases de données de référence.

Abstract
For some years, the characterization of workers' exposure to airborne metallic ultrafine particles (UFP) has been an increasing issue. Many industrial processes may generate UFP, which are characterized by constituent particle diameter less than 100 nm, and refer to nanosized particles not intentionally produced (welding, thermal spraying, 3D-printing ...). Thus, determining the size distribution of such an aerosol together with its chemical composition provide a real contribution to the understanding of UFP exposures and associated health effects. In the framework of proposing characterization methods adapted to occupational situations, the optimization of metallic aerosol sampling using cascade impactors is studied in order to improve the reproducibility of these samplings. Cascade impactors represent a valuable help since both the size distribution of an aerosol and its chemical characterization can be obtained from the samples collected. A welding fume bench was used to generate a highly reproducible test aerosol of metallic UFP (mass median aerodynamic diameter MMAD = 430 nm, ρeff = 0.55 g.cm-3). Four different cascade impactors were involved (DLPI+, MARPLE, SIOUTAS and Minimoudi 135-8). Our investigations allowed the lubrificating procedure of the collection supports (membranes, filters) to be optimized by determining the nature and the quantity of grease, which is of significative influence in the collection efficiency. Furthermore, under optimized conditions, the Minimoudi 135-8 (intended for personal sampling) leads to results very close to those stemming from the reference low pressure cascade impactor, DLPI+, thanks to its high resolution in terms of number of stages (8) and lowest cutoff diameter (180 nm).

Aims. The main goal of the following analysis is to assess the potential role of magnetic fields in regulating the envelope rotation, the formation of disks and the fragmentation of Class 0 protostars in multiple systems. Methods. We use the Submillimeter Array to carry out observations of the dust polarized emission at 0.87 mm, in the envelopes of a large sample of 20 Class 0 protostars. We estimate the mean magnetic field orientation over the central 1000 au envelope scales to characterize the orientation of the main component of the organized magnetic field at the envelope scales in these embedded protostars. This direction is compared to that of the protostellar outflow in order to study the relation between their misalignment and the kinematics of the circumstellar gas. The latter is traced via velocity gradient observed in the molecular line emission (mainly N2H+) of the gas at intermediate envelope scales. Results. We discover a strong relationship between the misalignment of the magnetic field orientation with the outflow and the amount of angular momentum observed at similar scales in the protostellar envelope, revealing a potential link between the kinetic and the magnetic energy at envelope scales. The relation could be driven by favored B-misalignments in more dynamical envelopes or a dependence of the envelope dynamics with the large-scale B initial configuration. Comparing the trend with the presence of fragmentation, we observe that single sources are mostly associated with conditions of low angular momentum in the inner envelope and good alignment of the magnetic field with protostellar outflows, at intermediate scales. Our results suggest that the properties of the magnetic field in protostellar envelopes bear a tight relationship with the rotating-infalling gas directly involved in the star and disk formation: we find that it may not only influence the fragmentation of protostellar cores into multiple stellar systems, but also set the conditions establishing the pristine properties of planet-forming disks. ; This project has received funding from the European Research Council (ERC) under the European Union Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme (MagneticYSOs project, grant agreement No. 679937, PI: Maury). 49 pags, 10 figs, 2 tabs. -- Supplementary data is available at the Publisher's web ; The goal of the Tropospheric Ozone Assessment Report (TOAR) is to provide the research community with an up-to-date scientific assessment of tropospheric ozone, from the surface to the tropopause. While a suite of observations provides significant information on the spatial and temporal distribution of tropospheric ozone, observational gaps make it necessary to use global atmospheric chemistry models to synthesize our understanding of the processes and variables that control tropospheric ozone abundance and its variability. Models facilitate the interpretation of the observations and allow us to make projections of future tropospheric ozone and trace gas distributions for different anthropogenic or natural perturbations. This paper assesses the skill of current-generation global atmospheric chemistry models in simulating the observed present-day tropospheric ozone distribution, variability, and trends. Drawing upon the results of recent international multi-model intercomparisons and using a range of model evaluation techniques, we demonstrate that global chemistry models are broadly skillful in capturing the spatio-temporal variations of tropospheric ozone over the seasonal cycle, for extreme pollution episodes, and changes over interannual to decadal periods. However, models are consistently biased high in the northern hemisphere and biased low in the southern hemisphere, throughout the depth of the troposphere, and are unable to replicate particular metrics that define the longer term trends in tropospheric ozone as derived from some background sites. When the models compare unfavorably against observations, we discuss the potential causes of model biases and propose directions for future developments, including improved evaluations that may be able to better diagnose the root cause of the model-observation disparity. Overall, model results should be approached critically, including determining whether the model performance is acceptable for the problem being addressed, whether biases can be tolerated or corrected, whether the model is appropriately constituted, and whether there is a way to satisfactorily quantify the uncertainty. ; A portion of the work was carried out at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Institute of Technology, under a contract with the NASA Aeronautics and Space Administration.
