6 pags., 8 figs., 3 tabs. ; CALIFA is the high efficiency and energy resolution calorimeter for the RB experiment at FAIR, intended for detecting high energy light charged particles and gamma rays in scattering experiments, and is being commissioned during the Phase-0 experiments at FAIR, between 2018 and 2020. It surrounds the reaction target in a segmented configuration with 2432 detection units made of long CsI(Tl) finger-shaped scintillator crystals. CALIFA has a 10 year intended operational lifetime as the RB calorimeter, necessitating measures to be taken to ensure enduring performance. In this paper we present a systematic study of two groups of 6 different detection units of the CALIFA detector after more than four years of operation. The energy resolution and light output yield are evaluated under different conditions. Tests cover the aging of the first detector units assembled and investigates recovery procedures for degraded detection units. 13 pags., 12 figs., 4 tabs. ; Transition probabilities of intermediate-spin yrast and non-yrast excitations in Se80,82 were investigated in a recoil distance Doppler-shift (RDDS) experiment performed at the Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare, Laboratori Nazionali di Legnaro. The Cologne Plunger device for deep inelastic scattering was used for the RDDS technique and was combined with the AGATA Demonstrator array for the γ-ray detection and coupled to the PRISMA magnetic spectrometer for an event-by-event particle identification. In Se80, the level lifetimes of the yrast (61+) and (81+) states and of a non-yrast band feeding the yrast 41+ state are determined. A spin and parity assignment of the head of this sideband is discussed based on the experimental results and supported by large-scale shell-model calculations. In Se82, the level lifetimes of the yrast 61+ state and the yrare 42+ state and lifetime limits of the yrast (101+) state and of the 51- state are determined. Although the experimental results contain large uncertainties, they are interpreted with care in terms of large-scale shell-model calculations using the effective interactions JUN45 and jj44b. The nuclear structure of neutron-rich nuclei close to the double-magic nucleus 78Ni has been investigated by measuring the lifetime of excited states. In this contribution, it will be presented the lifetime of the Jπ = 7=2 excited state at 981 keV of the 71Cu isotope, measured using the AGATA Demonstrator coupled to the PRISMA spectrometer and the Köln plunger setup. 7 pags., 4 figs., 2 tabs. -- Open Access funded by Creative Commons Atribution Licence 4.0 ; The quasi-free scattering reactions C(p,2p) and C(p,pn) have been studied in inverse kinematics at beam energies of 300–400 MeV/u at the RB-LAND setup. The outgoing proton-proton and proton-neutron pairs were detected in coincidence with the reaction fragments in kinematically complete measurements. The efficiency to detect these pairs has been obtained from GEANT4 simulations which were tested using the C(p,2p) and C(p,pn) reactions. Experimental cross sections and momentum distributions have been obtained and compared to DWIA calculations based on eikonal theory. The new results reported here are combined with previously published cross sections for quasi-free scattering from oxygen and nitrogen isotopes and together they enable a systematic study of the reduction of single-particle strength compared to predictions of the shell model over a wide neutron-to-proton asymmetry range. The combined reduction factors show a weak or no dependence on isospin asymmetry, in contrast to the strong dependency reported in nucleon-removal reactions induced by nuclear targets at lower energies. The β decay of the N = 83 nucleus ¹³¹Cd has been studied at the RIBF facility at the RIKEN Nishina Center. The main purpose of the study was to identify the position of the 1p₃/₂ and 0 f₅/₂ proton-hole states and the energies of core-excited configurations in the semi-magic nucleus ¹³¹In. From the radiation emitted following the ββ decay, a level scheme of ¹³¹In was established and the β feeding to each excited state determined. Similarities between the single-particle transitions observed in the ββ decays of the N = 83 isotones ¹³²In and ¹³¹Cd are discussed. The β decay of the semi-magic nucleus has been studied at the RIBF facility at the RIKEN Nishina Center. The high statistics of the present experiment allowed for a revision of the established level scheme of ¹³⁰In and the observation of additional β feeding to high-lying core-excited states in ¹³⁰In.
