By signing the Association Agreement with the European Union on June 27, 2014, Ukraine has continued process of adaptation of its legislation in the field of food safety to European standards. A large part of the Association Agreement is devoted to the safety of food products and sanitary and phytosanitary measures. According to Chapter 4 «Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures» of the Association Agreement, Ukraine should introduce an equivalent European system for monitoring the quality and safety of food products. The benefits for Ukraine after signing the Association Agreement are unconditional, but more important is to implement its provisions.The methods of comparative, analytical and logical analysis were used. Taking part in the project 575523-EPP-1-2016-1-UAEPPJMO-MODULE «EU Environmental Policy and Law» we have studied European standards in the field of food security. General principles of legal regulation of food safety in the EU were analyzed. The state of adaptation of Ukrainian legislation to the requirements of the European Union law in the field of food safety was investigated. Some gaps in Ukrainian legislation were found.Key words: food safety, EU law, sanitary and phytosanitary measures.

According to Annex XXX to Chapter 6 of the Association Agreement, Ukraine should implement the following three Directives: Directive 2008/98/EC of the European parliament and of the Council of 19 November 2008 on waste and repealing certain Directives; Council Directive 1999/31EC of 26 April 1999 on the landfill of waste and Directive 2006/21/EC of the European parliament and of the Council of 15 March 2006 on the management of waste from extractive industries. The benefits for Ukraine after signing the Association Agreement are unconditional, but more important is to implement its provisions.Taking part in the joint Ukraine-Czech Republicresearch and development project «EU Environmental Policy on Solid Domestic Waste Management and its Implementation in Ukraine and the Czech Republic» we have studied EU waste law, its principles and standards. Досліджено стан адаптації українського законодавства до вимог Європейського Союзу у сфері поводження з відходами. Considering the increase in the number of cases of domestic violence during the COVID-19 pandemic, it is relevant to study the practices of combating domestic violence, which have become effective in individual countries. The problem of domestic violence is global and various countries have been working to overcome it for a long time. Eastern European countries, especially the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland, have made significant progress in combating domestic violence. Therefore, it is appropriate to study their experience. The article examines state policy, national legislation and best practices for preventing and combating domestic violence in these countries.

The article considers the advantages and disadvantages of using artificial intelligence (AI) in various areas of human activity. Particular attention was paid to the use of AI in the legal field. Prospects for the use of AI in the legal field were identified. The relevance of research on the legal regulation of the use of AI was proved. The use of AI raises an important problem of the compliance with general principles of ensuring human rights. Emphasis is placed on the need to develop and use a Code of ethics for artificial intelligence and legislation that would prevent its misapplication and minimize possible harmful consequences.

The purpose of our article is to investigate the process of approximation of Ukrainian environmental legislation to EU law. The range of issues that Ukraine has reformed in the field of environment has been investigated. The state of compliance of Ukrainian environmental legislation with the commitments under the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement was revealed. The problems of further effective application in practice of the adopted regulatory legal acts, strategies and action plans were disclosed. Particular attention was paid to water legislation and legislation in the field of waste management. The current state of the sphere of solid waste management in Ukraine was revealed. The state of adaptation of Ukrainian water legislation to the requirements of the European Union law has been investigated. Ways to improve Ukraine's environmental policy on waste and water policy based on European experience were substantiated. The methods of comparative law, statistical, analytical and logical analysis were used.

The article is devoted to the research of problems of adaptation of Ukrainian legislation to the norms of EU law. The environmental well-being of the population depends on the legal regulation of waste management and the role of government agencies in controlling these activities. Particular attention in this scholarly work is paid to the overriding objective of learning from the experience of the EU member states by creating a qualitative mechanism and achieving the main result – improvement of national legislation by implementing European standards in the sphere of waste management. The article provide an overview of EU waste legislation, main EU investment policy and its contributions to municipalities in the area of solid municipal waste management. The ways of ecological modernization of the management of solid municipal waste were investigated. The purpose of this article is to provide an overview of theoretical and practical issues related to the implementation of the responsibilities of bodies of local self-government for the management of solid municipal waste according to the Waste Framework Directive. Experience of EU Member States in this sphere was studied. The state of adaptation of Ukrainian legislation to the requirements of the European Union in the field of waste management has been investigated and proposals for implementation of experience of EU member states were made.

This article develops hypotheses that raising the level of legal culture can serve as an effective instrument in maintaining sustainable development, social stability and territorial integrity. Legal culture should be considered as a regulator and stabilizer of social relations, both in individual countries and at the international level. It is necessary to consider legal culture in conjunction with morality, ethical, economic and political values and priorities. The study has concluded that creation of the democratic state of law and civil society is impossible without raising the level of legal culture. Creation of a strategy for raising the level of legal culture of the population is becoming a priority task, since it will allow forming the functions of the legal culture in the implementation of the national security policy in the socio-economic, political and regional spheres, preserving historical heritage and territorial integrity of Ukraine, overcoming internal and external threats to its stable state and legal development.

The purpose of our scholarly work is to explore actual problems of harmonization of legislation of Ukraine in the sphere of environmental policy integration with EU law and development of proposals for the improvement of Ukrainian legislation. The state of environmental policy integration in Ukraine was assessed. Government strategies, programmes, concepts and plans in Ukraine and EU were analyzed. Based on comparison analysis differences and common problems of environmental policy integration in Ukraine and EU member states were determined and recommendations on the measures to be taken to ensure better integration of environmental policies in sectoral policies in Ukraine were made. This scholarly work examines the environmental protection legislation of Ukraine and its application in practice, aiming to identify the main challenges it faces in the context of the required harmonization of Ukrainian environmental legislation with EU law according to the Association Agreement, while also making suggestions on how to better respond to these issues. This paper also refers to the experience of EU member states in the field of environmental liability. Legal nature, content and meaning of the criminal liability of legal persons in the environmental sphere according to the law of EU member states were studied in order to determine the appropriateness and mechanism of implementation of such responsibility in Ukraine. Arguments for establishment of criminal liability of legal persons were presented.
