On the occasion of the centenary of the birth of Thérèse Martin many historical documents relating to her as important works have been published. The question of the psychological or sociological factors which influenced her personality is at the centre of heated controversies.
One of the main subjects of discussion among authors of recent works on Thérèse Martin is the relevancy of appealing to psychoanalytical interpretations. However certain essential elements of the dossier have been overlooked, notably two major articles of the British psychoanalyst I.F. Grant Duff on Thérèse Martin which were published respectively in the British Journal of Medical Psychology (1925) and in Imago (1930).
