Moral Philosophy and Ethics: The Demarcation Line
In: Žurnal Sibirskogo Federal'nogo Universiteta: Journal of Siberian Federal University. Gumanitarnye nauki = Humanities & social sciences, S. 1289-1297
ISSN: 2313-6014
The paper proposes an idea that moral philosophy and ethical theory are congruent with each other in their subject, but differ in their methods: the first one grasps a human act from the inside in its primary moral genesis, while the second one studies morality in its outward objectified forms. The author bases this view on his own interpretation of Mikhail Bakhtin's moral philosophy, presented in his early works «Toward a Philosophy of the Act and Author» and «Author and Hero in Aesthetic Activity». The opposite sides of an act, which is rooted in a living individual with one side and in culture with another one, acquire the inner character and entirety through personal moral responsibility

What We Mean by the Dialogue of Civilizations
In: International affairs: a Russian journal of world politics, diplomacy and international relations, Band 54, Heft 3, S. 132-137
ISSN: 0130-9641
A discussion of what is meant by a dialogue of civilizations points out that civilization is an ideal that emerges from the acts of a large number of people. Civilizations never meet face to face or become involved in the communication process. The people who belong to different civilizations meet to address problems; however, no individual or group has the uncontested right to represent a specific civilization & the notion that certain terrorist Islamic movements represent the Islamic world is untrue. These groups have no greater right to speak for the Islamic world than European neo-fascists have to speak for European states. Public behavior is growing more individual than was true in traditional societies based on strict rules. The dialogue of civilizations (or cultures) "cannot be understood as a localized & observable sum-total of purposefully controlled actions." Therefore, cultural specifics & distinctions cannot justify violence in any form; confrontational comparisons should be excluded from public discourse; & claims that one culture is more adequate than another should be off limits in any dialogue. SETTLEMENT OF ETHNIC-SEPARATIST CONFLICTS: EUROPEAN EXPERIENCE AND ITS POTENTIAL APPLICATION IN THE NAGORNO-KARABAKH SETTLEMENT
International terrorism, proliferation of WMD, mounting nationalism, and ethnic separatism have already become part and parcel of the contemporary political processes unfolding with frightening speed. Ethnic separatism in the Southern Caucasus is a local manifestation of the global struggle over the world markets. Any analysis of the region's future stumbles across the problem of settling the region's ethnic-separatist discords, the main one of which is the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. This means that an analysis of corresponding international experience may suggest fresh approaches to the old conflict. The conflict cannot be resolved at the cost of the territorial integrity of one of the sides: the solution lies in preserving and encouraging the national minority's ethnic specifics within the unified state.

In: Vestnik Moskovskogo Universiteta: naučnyj žurnal = Moscow State University bulletin. Serija 9, Filologija, Heft №3, 2023, S. 197-204
The article presents an overview of the work of the international scientific and practical conference Literary Digital Archive as Cultural Practice and Social Experience, held on October 20, 2022 at the Gorky Institute of World Literature of the Russian Academy of Sciences and dedicated to the results of a research project carried out at IMLI with the support of a grant from the Russian Science Foundation (RNF) - Transcript: Politics and Literature. Digital Archive of Literary Organizations of the 1920s-1930s. The essence of the project consisted in digitizing transcripts of meetings of proletarian writers' unions and placing them in a specially prepared digital database. Turning to these sources allows the literary critic to focus on the functions of literary institutions: production, communication, consumption and distribution of material and symbolic goods. The speakers noted the prospects of an extensive path - the expansion of the material involved in digitization, and the intensive development of the project. The discussion of the results ended with general support for the idea of publishing the next volume of the Literary Legacy, dedicated to the history of proletarian writers' unions, the output of which would crown the historical and literary research vector set by the project Transcript: Politics and Literature.
