Dogmatism is at the heart of the German jurisprudence. It represents not only the main substantive object of legal education; dogmatic contributions also make up a substantial proportion of scientific publications in Germany. The situation is different in the USA, India or South Africa, where compared to other forms of scientific literature dogma plays a much smaller role. German legal scholars have put the subject doctrine some time ago back on the agenda. Whether in the report of the Scientific Council or the collection of essays 'What does dogmatism?'
