Theodor Herzl (born 2 May 1860 in Pest, † July 3, 1904 in Edlach, community Reichenau an der Rax, Lower Austria) was an Austro-Hungarian writers of Jewish origin, publicist and journalist and the founder of modern political Zionism. [1] He therefore considered to be the central thought leaders and at the same time as the active precursor of a modern Jewish state, which became a reality later in the form of the modern state of Israel. In 1896 he published the book Der Judenstaat, this he had written under the impression of the Dreyfus affair. ; Theodor Herzl (* 2. Mai 1860 in Pest; † 3. Juli 1904 in Edlach, Gemeinde Reichenau an der Rax, Niederösterreich) war ein österreichisch-ungarischer Schriftsteller jüdischer Herkunft, Publizist und Journalist und der Begründer des modernen politischen Zionismus. Er gilt deshalb als der zentrale Vordenker und zugleich als aktiver Wegbereiter eines modernen Judenstaats, der später in Form des modernen Staates Israel Realität wurde. 1896 veröffentlichte er das Buch Der Judenstaat; dieses hatte er unter dem Eindruck der Dreyfus-Affäre geschrieben.

He is considered the key thinkers of the modern Jewish state, which would later become a reality in the form of the State of Israel. From October 1891 to July 1895 was Herzl correspondent of the Vienna "Neue Freie Presse" in Paris, where the political and social problems as well as the parliamentary operating his ardent interest aroused. A collection of newspaper articles about the subject appeared in 1895 under the title of the Palais Bourbon. ; Theodor Herzl (1860 - 1904) war ein österreichisch-ungarischer jüdischer Schriftsteller, Publizist und Journalist und der Begründer des modernen politischen Zionismus. Er gilt als der zentrale Vordenker eines modernen Judenstaats, der später in Form des Staates Israel Realität werden sollte. Von Oktober 1891 bis Juli 1895 war Herzl Korrespondent der Wiener "Neuen Freien Presse" in Paris, wo die politischen und sozialen Probleme sowie der parlamentarische Betrieb sein glühendes Interesse erregten. Eine Sammlung von Zeitungsartikeln zu diesem Thema erschien 1895 unter dem Titel Das Palais Bourbon.
