ABSTRACTSelf‐efficacy refers to an individual's judgement, belief and perception of their capability to accomplish specific tasks, which is crucial for children's mental well‐being. The primary objective of this scoping review was to systematically examine intervention studies aimed at enhancing children's self‐efficacy in Mainland China, intending to inform social work practices in child services. We conducted a comprehensive search of articles in Web of Science and CNKI to review empirical intervention studies published before March 2022 in either Chinese or English. The selection criteria included all empirical intervention studies focused on improving self‐efficacy in children in Mainland China. A total of 17 studies were identified and included in the review. Among these, six studies focused on general self‐efficacy, while the remaining 11 examined domain‐specific self‐efficacy. Seven studies provided compensatory interventions to children facing adversity, five studies implemented preventive services, and another five offered developmental services to children in regular circumstances. Fourteen programmes exclusively served children, while three studies involved parents. Notably, most of the included interventions were facilitated by research teams from universities, with only one led by a social work department. Education modalities and comprehensive interventions were commonly used and found to be effective. The current state of intervention studies underscores the need for programmes that utilize effective strategies and approaches to enhance children's self‐efficacy. Social workers are encouraged to play both direct and indirect roles in services aimed at improving children's self‐efficacy.

<b><i>Background:</i></b> Lung cancer is one of the deadliest cancers, early diagnosis of which can efficiently enhance patient's survival. We aimed to screening out the serum miRNAs as diagnostic biomarkers for patients with lung cancer. <b><i>Methods:</i></b> A total of 416 remarkably differentially expressed miRNAs were acquired using the limma package, and next feature ranking was derived by the minimal-redundancy-maximal-relevance method. An incremental feature selection algorithm of a random forest (RF) classifier was utilized to choose the top 5 miRNA combination with the optimum predictive performance. The performance of the RF classifier of top 5 miRNAs was analyzed using the receiver operator characteristic (ROC) curve. Afterward, the classification effect of the 5-miRNA combination was validated through principal component analysis and hierarchical clustering analysis. Analysis of top 5 miRNA expressions between lung cancer patients and normal people was performed based on GSE137140 dataset, and their expression was validated by qPCR. The hierarchical clustering analysis was used to analyze the similarity of 5 miRNAs expression profiles. ROC analysis was undertaken on each miRNA. <b><i>Results:</i></b> We acquired top 5 miRNAs finally, with the Matthews correlation coefficient value as 0.988 and the area under the curve (AUC) value as 0.996. The 5 feature miRNAs were capable of distinguishing most cancer patients and normal people. Furthermore, except for the lowly expressed miR-6875-5p in lung cancer tissue, the other 4 miRNAs all expressed highly in cancer patients. Performance analysis revealed that their AUC values were 0.92, 0.96, 0.94, 0.95, and 0.93, respectively. <b><i>Conclusion:</i></b> By and large, the 5 feature miRNAs screened here were anticipated to be effective biomarkers for lung cancer.

AbstractIndividual attributes have been demonstrated to influence the entrepreneurial decisions of returnees, but little is known about the regional factors. This study employed a dual‐level logistic model to explore the effects of both individual characteristics and regional context on returnee entrepreneurship in China. The results indicated the significance of both individual‐level attributes and regional context in the entrepreneurial entry: regional prosperity, government fiscal expenditure, tax burden, rainfall, and transportation infrastructure significantly affected the entrepreneurial probability. This study extends the returnee entrepreneurship literature by first, elucidating the importance of regional context in entrepreneurship and second, highlighting the joint impact of economic, institutional, and geographical contexts.
