; The objective of this research is to carry out a contrastive analysis of television coverage of a dramatic event and global character: the audiovisual representation of a shipwreck off the coast of Turkey and, in particular, collecting on the beach Bodrum body lifeless of a three year old Syrian called Aylan Kurdi. His death is contextualized in the desperate escape of thousands of people to Europe, through a Mediterranean sea where many have left their lives. As a general conclusion, there is an accent in the use of the image of the child on the beach, in the context of a story that is more emotional than informative. We face a fact that transcends theevent to become a global icon, where Aylan rises to the rank of dramatic symbol of the refugee tragedy.
