AbstractObjectivesThis study aimed to evaluate the knowledge, attitude, practice, and clinical recommendations of health care workers (HCWs) towards COVID-19.MethodsIn this systematic review study, international databases (Web of Science, PubMed, and Scopus) were searched for the relevant studies published in English from the inception of databases until July 30, 2020. Hoy et al.'s tool was used to evaluate the quality of studies. All search steps, screening, selection of studies, quality assessment, and data extraction were performed separately by two researchers.ResultsOut of 3460 articles searched, 28 articles conducted on 16,427 HCWs were included in the study. Most of the HCWs had good knowledge (72.2%), a positive attitude (70.9%), and good practice (78.8%) towards COVID-19. The most important clinical recommendation to improve knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) was to provide HCWs with a periodic training program regarding COVID-19. The most important source of information for HCWs on COVID-19 was social networks.ConclusionsDespite HCWs' good knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP), it is recommended to periodically review KAP and carry out further studies in different countries as well. It is also recommended to use social media to improve KAP.

As an essential part of the treatment chain and also the link between physicians and patients, pharmacists play a major role in optimizing drug administration. Compliance with a therapeutic regimen is necessary for therapeutic success, while non-adherence can lead to disease progression and eventually treatment failure. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of pharmacist's patient education on different parameters of patient compliance. Results: The results showed the patients receiving the intervention compared to the control group, were significantly more adherence to the correct drug use dose (p = 0.016), time of use (p = 0.018), treatment duration (p =0.001), and frequency (p = 0.049). Conclusions: This study indicates that detailed patient counseling at pharmacies can positively influence different parameters of patients' adherence.

Backgrounds: Medication errors are one of the most common errors that are associated with adverse effects on patients and may even lead to mortality. One of the methods for determining patient safety in hospitals is assessing the prevalence of medication errors. In this regard, medication reconciliation is used to improve drug safety in the treatment process. The present study was conducted on 7564 patients in the emergency department of one of the hospitals in Tehran, Iran. Methods: In total, 256 adult patients with a mean of 45 years, who had been admitted to the emergency department of a hospital in the past six months and had used at least three drugs before admission, were entered into the study. In this study, the effect of medication reconciliation on admitted patients was assessed to prevent drug errors at the time of admission by pharmacists. The main outcome measure was Type and Frequency Percentage of Drug Differences Observed during Medication Reconciliation were measured. Results: According to the results, the presence of a trained pharmacist was significantly effective in medication reconciliation for enhancing patient safety and treatment process accuracy. In addition, it was concluded that age, the condition of hospitalization, and medical center personnel had a direct relationship with the frequency of medication discrepancies. Conclusion: The presence of a trained pharmacist to perform the medication reconciliation process significantly affected the improvement of patient safety and the accuracy of the treatment process.
