This paper presents an overview of the latest experiences in ethnomusicological research based on the texts incorporated in this collection of works. These experiences emanate primarily from the local researchers' works on music of the Balkans, with a heightened theoretical and methodological dimension. The distinctive Balkan musical practices, created through the amalgamation of elements from different cultures, ethnicities, and religions, made this geo-cultural space intriguing not only to researchers from this very region but also to those from other cultural communities. A theoretical framework for interpreting these practices together with the contemporary research methods stem from interactions of local scientific communities' experiences, sources and practices they deal with, circumstances, ideologies and politics, including the influences of the world's dominant ethnomusicological communities as well as researchers' individual affinities and choices. A comparison with the research strategies applied in similar, transitory geo-cultural spaces contributes to a more complex exploration of the Balkan ethnomusicologists' experiences.

The Selimiye is a mosque complex located in the old city's center of Doboj – the Upper Town (čaršija). We present the results of the first interdisciplinary analysis of archaeological and bioarchaeological finds from its excavations in 1994 attempting to get the first insights into living conditions of the Ottoman period Bosnia. Archaeological assemblage dated to the 16th-19th century is composed of pottery, clay tobacco pipes, small everyday metal objects, functional parts of costume, and glass fragments. Animal remains were probably associated with ritual context of food consumption during the Eid al-Adha feasts. Burial of a child inside the mosque's harem indicates its belonging to an upper class Muslim family of Doboj.
Now that the pandemic has entered the second phase, in which countries are adapting to the crisis, governments need to determine incentives that will contribute to the sustainability of the health system and human health. Regarding this, human resources are a significant factor, which affects the sustainability of any system, and it is important to establish a relevant motivation system that will withstand the challenges that society will face in the coming period. The aim of this paper is to analyse three dimensions of state incentives (employment program, COVID-19 bonus, training opportunities) and to examine their influence on healthcare workers' motivation and the sustainability of the health system in the Republic of Serbia. The empirical research was conducted on a sample of 207 respondents employed in the tertiary level of healthcare. Data analysis included exploratory factor analysis (EFA), confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and structural equation modelling (SEM). The research results confirmed the existence of all three incentives and indicated that state incentive "training opportunities" has the strongest effect on the motivation of health workers and the sustainability of the healthcare system.

In this paper we focused on the transformation of the main character in the novel The Color Purple, Celie, through the letters she writes to God and her sister Nettie. We contrastively analysed the original text and its Serbian translation. In this paper we followed Celie's path from an insecure and molested girl, to a confident and emancipated individual which can be observed in the development of her language and writing style. There are three types of letters within the novel: (a) letters written to God; (b) letters which introduce her transformation; (c) letters written to Celie's sister Nettie. The insecurity of the protagonist is mirrored in her language which is a stylised version of African American English. The Serbian translation employed linguistic features that don't belong to any particular dialect, but rather represent an approximation of the way undereducated people would speak. The beginning of the novel is characterised by short sentences, repetitive lexicon and the use of the prolonged underscore ______. In the second half of the novel the sentences become longer and the vocabulary richer. Going through the transformation from a victim of dire circumstances to a self-aware individual that accepts herself and her language, Celie represents a character of the Afro-American woman in specific historical circumstances. In addition to Celie, the transformation can be seen in other side characters, especially on the level of onomastics.

"The lack of recognition of Romani gender politics in the wider Romani movement and the women's movements is accompanied by a scarcity of academic literature on Romani women's mobilization in wider social justice struggles and debates. The Romani Women's Movement highlights the role that Romani women's politics plays in shaping equality related discourses, policies, and movements in Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe. Presenting the diverse experiences and voices of Romani women activists, this volume reveals how they translate experiences of structural inequalities into political struggles by defining their own spaces of action; participating in formalized or less formal activist practices, and challenging the agendas and mechanisms of the established Romani and women's movements. Moving discourses on and of Romani women from the periphery of scholarly exchanges to the mainstream, the volume invites scholars and activists from different disciplines and movements to critically reflect on their engagements with particular social justice agendas. It will appeal to students, researchers and practitioners interested in fields such as social movements, gender quality, and social and ethnic justice"--

This paper postulates that the effect of e-commerce on firm performance is not direct and needs to be examined using mediating factors. The Ordinary Least-Squares (OLS) model was employed with the data of the Flash Eurobarometer 439 Survey entitled The Use of Online Marketplaces and Search Engines by small and medium enterprises. The obtained findings provide support for the mediating hypothesis. To be more precise, while the relationship between e-commerce and firm performance is negative, it is positively mediated by certain types of internet sales channels. In particular, the benefits of e-commerce in terms of higher sales are more pronounced when firms use commercial websites and online marketplaces. On the other hand, the interaction between e-commerce and search engines has an insignificant effect on firm performance. This study advances research on e-commerce by emphasizing the importance of mediating effect.
This study aimed to examine the effect of shortening the effective heat treatment time by 15 minutes for finely and coarsely chopped sausages and canned meat in pieces packed in polyamide casings with diameters of 75 and 90 mm. Product safety was ensured in accordance with legislation and with the producer food safety system. Optimization led to a decrease in p-values for finely chopped sausages (diameter 90: 148.8 → 97.64 minutes; diameter 75: 111.2 → 58.4 min), coarsely chopped cooked sausages (diameter 90: 115.5 → 79.1 min; diameter 75: 245.3 → 106.6 min) and for canned meat in pieces (diameter 90: 249.7 → 95.91; diameter 75: 213.9 → 48.42 min). The use of p-value in optimization confirms the pasteurization level and ensures the safety of the product in the defined storage conditions. It is also possible to compare the levels of heat treatment for different products that are differently packaged.

During the validation and verification of HACCP system, a food business operator must use the data obtained in the regular control, whose dynamics and extent are required by actual legislation. During one year, at a cattle slaughterhouse in North Banat District (Serbia), swabs were continually taken from the carcasses of pigs, on the slaughter line after the final wash, in order to monitor compliance with the process hygiene criteria (Salmonella spp., Enterobacteriaceae, total viable count of aerobic bacteria). For 30 consecutive weeks of testing, , Salmonella spp. presence was not detected on the pig carcasses after final wash, while the determined presence of Enterobacteriaceae were 1,05 ± 0,78 log CFU/cm2, and the total viable count of aerobic bacteria were 2.87 ± 0.96 log CFU/cm2. The analysis of the obtained results proved a downward trend in Enterobacteriacae and total viable count of aerobic bacteria presence which proves the effectiveness of the new approach in the monitoring process hygiene during the production of pig carcasses, in accordance with the actual legislation.
