This volume focuses on religion from a trans-cultural perspective. Its aim is to suggest new ways of seeing how religions might coexist peacefully within different societies of the 21st century. Can secular culture be the path to convince different religions to endorse a shared ideal of peaceful co-existence? The chapters take into consideration the socio-political implications of religions in Asian, African, Latin-American and European contexts. Joachim Küpper, Klaus W. Hempfer, and Erika Fischer-Lichte, FU Berlin, Germany.

Historiography and literature are verbal representations of actions and events that either have happened or could happen in the human lifeworld. As such, they possess an uncanny 'family resemblance' that has impelled theorists since Antiquity to define the limits of the two 'sister arts.' Historiographical texts, from one point of view, are liable to veer towards fiction.
This book-length study is concerned with the various - vicarious and delegative - devices pertaining to rhetorical ventriloquism (sermocinatio, ethopoeia, prosopopoeia, etc.) - including their technical, conceptual, and applicative history in European and Western literatures, from Ancient to (Early) Modern times. It is published as an Online Supplement (.pdf) to (the article "Rhetorical Ventriloquism in Application", forming part of) the following DramaNet volume: History and Drama. The Pan-European Tradition. Eds. Joachim Küpper, Jan Mosch, Elena Penskaya. Berlin: de Gruyter, 2019.

Marking the 50th anniversary of one among this philosopher's most distinguished pieces, Blumenberg's Rhetoric proffers a decidedly diversified interaction with the essai polyvalently entitled 'Anthropological Approach to the Topicality (or Currency, Relevance, even actualitas) of Rhetoric' ("Anthropologische Annäherung an die Aktualität der Rhetorik"), first published in 1971. Following Blumenberg's lead, the contributors consider and tackle their topics rhetorically—treating (inter alia) the variegated discourses of Phenomenology and Truthcraft, of Intellectual History and Anthropology, as well as the interplay of methods, from a plurality of viewpoints. The diachronically extensive, disciplinarily diverse essays of this publication—notably in the current lingua franca—will facilitate, and are to conduce to, further scholarship with respect to Blumenberg and the art of rhetoric. With contributions by Sonja Feger, Simon Godart, Joachim Küpper, DS Mayfield, Heinrich Niehues-Pröbsting, Daniel Rudy Hiller, Katrin Trüstedt, Alexander Waszynski, Friedrich Weber-Steinhaus, Nicola Zambon
