Background: since 2003, Iraq's fragile geopolitical situation has harmed people's health, especially children. Some factors may have an impact on a child's nutritional status. The research goal is to determine the prevalence of malnutrition among children aged 6 to 59 months in a comprehensive sample of children in Babylon. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study focuses on the prevalence of malnutrition in children under the age of five at primary health care centers in Al- Hilla city's urban and rural areas. From November 1st, 2021, the research will take time until March 1st, 2022. After receiving their permission, the data was obtained using an auto-self questionnaire with a series of questions and an interview with moms and children. This interview lasts 10–15 minutes for each kid and is used to determine the prevalence of malnutrition in childhood. The prevalence of severe wasting (1.3%), underweight (1.3%), stunting (6.5%), and severe stunting (5.2%) was seen in both genders. The total prevalence of malnutrition among children under the age of five was determined to be 14.3%.

Abstract: Anemia in Pregnancy considered a significant public health problem. It has an essential role in disabled life and death of pregnant women and their future children, mainly in developing countries. The World Bank Group (WBG) estimates that the prevalence of Anemia among pregnant women in Iraq is nearly 38%, while the World Health Organization (WHO) estimates it approximately 31%. Hence, the primary objective of our study is to investigate the possible prevalence of Anemia among pregnant women in Babylon city by analyzing several primary health centres in this governorate. A cross-sectional descriptive survey runs in several primary health care centers in Babylon. Five centers are selected, two in the center and three in the centers of the peripheries. The sample was selected by a modified systematic sampling technique. Questions attempted to encompass the sociodemographic characteristics of the mother, and the menstrual and obstetrical history and the possible association of these characteristics with the presence of anaemia. The range of Hemoglobin identified between 6.0 to 15.0 with a mean of 10.61 gm/dL. The estimated prevalence of anaemia was 48.6% of the studied sample where mild anaemia appeared in 21.8%, while that of moderate and severe anaemia in 26.0% and 0.8% respectively. The younger age of the mother and good family income are protective factors while loneliness and having a Job are significant risk factors to its occurrence. Also, the occurrence of Anemia was associated significantly with heaviness rather than the regularity of the menstrual cycle with a higher number of pregnancies and/or abortions, irregularity or absence of antenatal care and previous rather than present antepartum hemorrhage. Anemia represents a great challenge to the community health in Iraq and require further governmental efforts to handle it by concentrated health education and promotion of antenatal care.

Background: Suicide is defined as an act of intentionally causing one's death. Different psychological disorders including depression, personality disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, substance abuse, and addiction, and anxiety disorders represent risk factors for suicide. The previous history of suicidal attempts is associated with increased risk for future suicide. Methods of suicide and self-harm include the use of poison, misuse of drugs, burning, hanging, self- cutting, jumping from bridges. Effective suicidal prevention includes stopping access to the common methods of suicide such as drugs and poisons, effective treatment of psychological disorders, and substance abuse; improving the socioeconomic status and use of health education especially by using mass media. Objective: This study was performed to assess the socio-demographic features of suicidal victims and the trend of suicide in Babylon province and to describe the most common methods of suicide used. Patients and method: Was a retrospective study, and the sample was a total of 72 suicidal death collected from records of Forensic Medicine Center of Babylon province during periods of January 2015 to the end of December 2019. Results: The current study includes seventy-two suicidal deaths for five years from January 2015 to the end of December 2019. The mean age of suicidal victims was (25.52 ± 12.51) years the younger one was 11 years and the older one was 68. In the current study 32 cases (44.4%) were below 20 years and 31 cases (43.1%) were between 20-39 years. Most of those victims were male 46 cases (63.9%), most of them 39 cases (54.2%) were from the Hilla (center of Babylon). In the current study hanging was the most common method of suicide using, which represents about three quarters (72.2%) of suicidal death (52 cases). Conclusion: Suicide represents an important public health problem in many developing and developed countries and is regarded as one of the leading causes of death worldwide. There were increasing trends of suicide in our country as a result of social, economic, and political problems. Hanging was the most common method of suicide.
