[Image: see text] The use of in vivo models is critical in determining clinical relevance of potential chemotherapeutic molecules. Albeit mammals are of physiological relevance, the use of nonmammalian animals to investigate therapeutic efficacy of potential molecules at an initial stage of clinical research can complement in vitro studies. Here we suggest the use of a simple and inexpensive in vivo locust model in exploring the efficacy of novel chemotherapeutic molecules and/or large chemical libraries using high-throughput experimentation without legislative restrictions.

Education is an important pillar for the development of any society. Generally, school enrollment in developing countries is observed very low compared to the developed countries and the situation is further worsened by the high dropout rate. The current study investigates the major factors responsible for high dropouts in Islamabad, Pakistan, particularly in rural areas. For this purpose, the primary data have been obtained through a detailed questionnaire collecting information on child socioeconomic, household, cultural, and other characteristics. For modeling purposes, Probit model is used to investigate the effects of various factors on high child dropout rate. The results revealed that besides the distance from school to home, financial constraints are the most important reason for dropping out. Moreover, the education of father, age of the child and the gender of the child are also highly significant variables that determine the probability of a child dropout.

The main objective of the research is to gain a greater comprehension of Allah's message, which He has revealed in the form of the Holy Quran. The purpose of this research is to investigate which translation has succeeded in presenting the most accurate interpretation of the meaning of the verses. In this research, three different translations of 4 selected Surahs of the Qur'an, also known as the four Quls, are analyzed by using a comparative approach. The selected translators are Abdullah Yusuf Ali, Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall, and Muhammad Asad. Qualitative and quantitative methodologies have been employed. The verses are first evaluated qualitatively. To be more accurate, the total amount of words in every translation is compared to the total number of words in the target language's surah. The study shows that Pickthall's translation is "formal correspondences," while M. Asad's translation is "dynamic." The translation of Yusuf Ali follows both paths. In the case of Surah Ikhlas and Surah Falaq, it is more "formal", and in the case of the other two surahs, it is "dynamic translation".

PurposeEmployee knowledge is an essential contributor to managing supply chain ambiguities and supply improvement. The current research examined green technology (GT) implementation and knowledge management (KM) processes toward knowledge worker supply performance (KWSP). The present study postulates that GT implementation's positive impacts on the KM process and KM process lead to improved KWSP based on employee knowledge contribution.Design/methodology/approachTo accomplish the research objective, the data were taken from those production houses that are utilizing GT. A total of 400 questionnaires were distributed in Zhengzhou city, and feedback was received (343). The feedback data were studied through partial least squares-structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) and fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA). fsQCA is used to analyze improving the multiple configurational paths of KWSP.FindingsThe study revealed that GT implementation is positively associated with the KM process, and KM processes substantially influence the improvement of KWSP. The consequence of fsQCA demonstrated that various combinations improve supply chain performance. The study combines certain dimensions of GT implementation with the KM process, revealing that supply chain performance improved based on knowledge sharing in manufacturing firms.Research limitations/implicationsThis study guides decision-makers and academics on using the knowledge process associated with GT to improve supply chain performance. Moreover, future researchers should use information technology in supply houses and compare the result with the literature to generalize the results better.Originality/valueThe asymmetric technique assists in differentiating the connections that are not directly investigated by the traditional symmetric method. The study covers and identifies various approaches that can be used in manufacturing firms to improve the supply chain process and employee satisfaction. The study combines the two techniques to understand supply performance based on knowledge sharing in manufacturing firms.

Our paper examines the impact of training outputs and employment factors on several facets of employee performance while supporting managerial decision-making in the banking sector. First, we introduce four performance measures in individual productivity assessment. Second, three identified groups of covariates are associated with these measures, namely, the training method success, delivery of knowledge, and labor market performance feedback. Based on our empirical results from Germany, we suggest that response-related decisions are accompanying bank employees' profiles and appraisal. In particular, we form decision-making functions and finally show that the banking industry successfully balances between internal and external factors in optimizing employees' performance.

This study aims to investigate the adaptation of internalization factors and employees' competitive behavior in small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The empirical findings suggest that the integration of religious orientation brings better results along with the other determinants (subjective norm, attitude, behavior control and intention) of the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). Further, this study indicates the significant direct relationship between religious orientation, attitude, perceived control and intention with employee behavior, except for subjective norms and intention, which shows an insignificant relationship. This empirical findings suggest that owners and managers of SMEs should place some efforts in providing support to increase religious orientation in SMEs, as this would likely to enhance all other factors. This study reports unique empirical findings to support the generalizability of the theory while also adding a new facet to the TPB by using SMEs as a social lab and data from a developing country.
