Im Zentrum dieser interdisziplinären Arbeit steht das wenig untersuchte Phänomen Wahlplakat als politolinguistische Kategorie und das Konzept Europa als sein inhaltlicher und kontextueller Kern. Im Einzelnen geht es um die Wahlkampfstrategien und kommunikationsstrategische Operationen sprachlicher sowie visueller Art, die das (Europa-)Wahlplakat kennzeichnen. Es wird in Form einer kontrastiven Analyse des Sprachgebrauchs das "Europäische" in den Wahlplakaten verschiedener Parteien im zeitlichen Verlauf seit der ersten bis zur letzten Europawahl in Deutschland aufgezeigt (1979-2014). Ferner wird eine systematische und möglichst generalisierbare Herangehensweise an die Untersuchung der Wahlplakate entwickelt. Die empirische Grundlage für die Analyse bilden 470 Europawahlplakate der Bundesebene von den deutschen Parteien CDU, CSU, SPD, (Bündnis 90)/Die Grünen, FDP, (PDS)/Die Linke sowie NPD/DVU/Die Republikaner. ; The main focus of this work is the little studied phenomenon election poster as the category of the political linguistic and the concept of Europe as its content and contextual core. In particular, it concerns the election campaign strategies and communication strategic operations (linguistic and visual) which characterize the election poster (by elections to the European Parliament). It will be shown the "European being" in the election posters of various parties over time since the first till the last European elections in Germany (1979-2014) in the form of the contrastive analysis of the parlance. Further a systematic and ubiquitous approach is developed for the investigation of the election posters. The empirical basis for the analysis form 470 election posters (by elections to the European Parliament) on the federal level of German parties CDU, CSU, SPD, (Bündnis 90)/Die Grünen, FDP, (PDS)/Die Linke and NPD/DVU/Die Republikaner.
