Die jordanische Journalistin Kilani zeigt in ihrer Analyse des jordanischen "Press and Publications Law of 1998" auf, dass es in erheblichem Maß gegen Artikel 19 der Menschenrechtskonvention (Meinungsfreiheit) und damit auch gegen Artikel 2 des Assoziationsabkommens zwischen Jordanien und der EU vom November 1997 verstößt. Die Analyse des Gesetzestextes wird ergänzt durch Hintergrundinformationen zur jordanischen Pressepolitik sowie eine Chronologie der Zensur- und Repressionsmaßnahmen zwischen Mai 1997 und September 1998.
