This book documents, verifies and brings to life the issues and debates that are created around the aging society. It carefully offers a series of opinions that attempt to illuminate the fact that the aging society goes beyond aging and includes a series of changes in terms of family, social ties, relationships, and the way human beings perceive society. High mortality rates and increasing quality of life, together with declining fertility rates, point to a demographic picture of global ageing that presages the so-called "ageing society". This paper seeks to indicate that it is also necessary to consider the capacity of individuals and governments to adapt to these collective and population changes.Undoubtedly, we are facing changes that involve public policies, family changes, urban resizing and new economic strategies, among others. But, at the same time, it is necessary not to forget those emotional and subjective factors that solidify the emergence of new strategies of what an older adult is in terms of active ageing and the search for quality of life.In this sense, it is intended to point out that although we have reviewed that account for cultural, political and cultural factors, the same does not happen with those other factors that also contribute to the term quality of life from the emotional, relational and subjective point of view.

As computers become an increasingly integral part of the lives of older adults, the study of computer used by older adults is becoming an increasingly relevant field of study. The aim of the study is a bibliographic review to better understand the relationship of new technologies with the population of older adults. Los trabajos presentados en este dossier han sido de índole interdisciplinaria y han abarcado muchos de los ángulos de las problemáticas y desafíos de la sociedad de envejecimiento: solidaridad intergeneracional, roles de género, papel de las familias, la cuestión de las pensiones y jubilaciones, formas y estilos de envejecer, el impacto del Covid-19 y el diseño de las políticas públicas, entre otros temas.Cabe aclarar, que el Dossier no agota de manera alguna su tema de convocatoria: "un largo debate entre lo político, lo social y el Estado", pero al menos intenta con rigor intelectual y pasión académica ir dando pasos en tal sentido.

En este texto se intentan debatir algunos de los desafíos que tiene por delante la llamada sociedad de envejecimiento, enfatizando dos ejes de análisis. Uno refiere a que no basta solo con indicar tendencias demográficas, sociales, poblacionales u otras para garantizar la aceptación en el imaginario social de la sociedad de envejecimiento. Lo cuantitativo es condición necesaria y no suficiente para aceptar estos desafíos aún pendientes de la sociedad de envejecimiento. Este punto está realzado desde otro eje de análisis, el que tiene que ver con la "resurrección" del edadismo a partir de los acontecimientos sanitarios y políticos en torno al coronavirus, que colocó nuevamente a los adultos mayores en roles estereotipados de decrepitud y ruina. Todo lo anterior indica que se ha de proyectar un arduo trabajo de intervención social, gubernamental y estatal para ir creando los basamentos mínimos de la sociedad de envejecimiento.

It is establish as a fundamental hypothesis of this essay that in the current social and cultural conditions, ageing appears as able to e-legitimize the foundational conditions of the social contract, the social bond and the citizen agreement between equals by the renovation of its status quo as age group. This renovation implies, among other conditions of a emerging subjectivity, the plenty renovation of an increasingly citizenship that guarantee the continuity of democratic and republican processes ; Se establece como hipótesis fundamental de este ensayo que en las condiciones sociales y culturales actuales la tercera edad aparece como capaz de re-legitimar las condiciones fundacionales del contrato social, el lazo social y el pacto ciudadano entre iguales, por la renovación de su status como grupo etareo. Esta renovación supone, entre otras condiciones de una subjetividad emergente, la plena renovación de una ciudadanía cada vez más plena y participativa que garantiza la continuidad de procesos democráticos y republicanos

En este trabajo se señala la importancia de la alta experimentación subjetiva en el grupo de los adultos mayores. Se toman como ejemplos tres relatos de vida de adultos mayores de México. Entendemos por "alta experimentación subjetiva" la capacidad de los adultos mayores de modificar sus puntos de vista, escalas de valores, forma de ver el mundo y papeles, y de introducir cambios a la herencia de sus propios abuelos. Esta experimentación, más que basarse en diferencias de clase socioeconómicas, parece mantener hitos transgeneracionales en común. Los adultos mayores revelan inventiva y creatividad, y replantean la vigencia del concepto giddoniano de política emancipatoria, cuya expresión máxima parece ser la confrontación generacional con sus propios abuelos.

Este trabajo busca contribuir a la comprensión de la violencia contemporánea, tomando como eje los procesos sociales, culturales y económicos que propicia el neoliberalismo, especialmente acentuados en Latinoamérica. Se insiste en describir procesos que no se toman como "accidentes pasajeros" sino que participan de efectos estructurales,que se consolidan desde el desmantelamiento del pacto social, la fi gura de la ley, la indigencia generalizada y la anulación de la fi gura del "vecino", dando paso a estructuras como la de "catástrofe inminente", la paranoia, el enemigo, u otras. ; This work seeks to contribute to the understanding of contemporary violence, taking as analytical axes the social, cultural and economic processes favored by neoliberalism, and especially accentuated in Latin America. It insists on describing processes not as "transient accidents", but rather as parts of structural eff ects that have been consolidated since the dismantling of the social pact, the figure of the law, the widespread indigence and the dissolution of the "neighbor" figure, giving way to structures such as "imminent catastrophe", paranoia, the enemy, or others.

Este trabajo busca ser una contribución para comprender algunos procesos de cambio por los que pasan los adultos mayores y la modificación del concepto de envejecimiento. Se revisan los conceptos de muerte desplazada, herencia y deuda, el lugar de la palabra sagrada y el de la confrontación transgeneracional de estos adultos mayores con sus propios antecesores.
Por último, se indaga si es posible articular estos procesos con el concepto de "cuidado de sí", de Foucault, que critica las ideas de Erikson respecto a la sabiduría como logro de esta etapa.

Este trabajo busca desarrollar algunas interrogantes en torno a los desafíos que plantean el neoliberalismo, el neoevangelismo y los cambios socio-demográficos actuales, en tanto introducen realidades inéditas delante de las cuales se propone la hipótesis de que no siempre disponemos de las herramientas conceptuales y metodológicas apropiadas.Se indica la necesidad de abrir un debate en torno a estas nuevas realidades sociales, culturales y epistemológicas tratando de comprender mejor el significado de los tres procesos indicados. Se enuncia la hipótesis de que estamos así frente a realidades que �rompen� con determinados modelos de pensamiento tradicionales en ciencias sociales, aunque se siguen utilizando marcos epistemológicos y conceptuales quizás ya inapropiados para el adecuado estudio de los procesos referidos.De allí que se introduce el concepto de paradigmas ambiguos como marco epistemológico tentativo.The aim of this paper is to develop certain questions related to the challenges posed by Neoliberalism, Neoevangelism and current sociodemographical changes, which bring about new realities for which, our hypothesis claims, we do not always have suitable conceptual and methodological tools.It is our contention that it is necessary to open a debate around these new social, cultural and epistemological circumstances in order to understand the meaning of the three aforementioned processes better.Our hypothesis is that we are dealing with realities that �break away� from certain traditional currents of thought in the social sciences, even though we still continue to employ epistemological and conceptual frameworks which are by now perhaps inappropriate for the correct study of the processes we have referred to. From there, we introduce the concept of the ambiguous paradigm as a tentative epistemological framework.
