Résumé À travers l'étude des relations des parlementaires avec l'Afrique du Sud, l'article tente de répondre à deux questions. La première concerne le rôle que jouent les parlementaires dans la diplomatie officielle et leur contribution à la réalisation des objectifs de la politique étrangère. Il en découle inévitablement la question de savoir si l'activité des parlementaires prend la forme de la « diplomatie parlementaire ». Afin de répondre à ces questions, l'article analyse, tout d'abord, les formes des relations parlementaires avec l'Afrique du Sud (groupes d'amitié, visites) et leur contexte international, ensuite, les résultats de ces activités avant de s'interroger sur la perception des deux gouvernements à l'égard de cette activité.
