Marketing Efficiency of Various Channels for Disposal of Natural Resins in Tribal Areas: A Case Study of Central and North Eastern Plateau Zones of India ; Not Available
Not Available ; The present study was carried out to understand the existing marketing mechanism disposal pattern of natural resins and their marketing efficiency in a agro-climatic sub zone of Central and North Eastern Plateau of India. A total of 100 stakeholders including lac cultivators belonging to small, medium and large category of households; small traders, big traders, wholesalers and processors were selected randomly and interviewed for data collection. In the study area eight channels were operating and in a little quantum, LAMPS were also initiated in the procurement of kusmi lac at Minimum Support Price (MSP) as announced by Ministry of Tribal Affairs, GOI, New Delhi. The study found that the marketing efficiency across various lac marketing channels ranged from 0.93 in Channel-I to 2.07 in Channel-V during 2012 and as a result of the consequences of policy intervention by the government it found to range from 0.98 in Channel-I to 8.77 in Channel-VIII in 2016. In lac marketing, traders faced difficulty in storage and impurity of raw materials. Processing units were uncomfortable with unavailability of raw materials on time, unavailability of skilled labour, poor power supply and volatile market price. Lack of organized lac market was also observed in the study area. Institutions and government agencies should provide information and market support services to the lac growers. Positive approach should be taken by government to promote the domestic as well as overseas demand of lac based high value products. Financial assistance may be provided by financial agencies to safeguard the growers, trader and small lac processing firms. ; ICAR

Pharmaceutical Product Complaint Handling: Evolution of A Systematic Mechanism
In: International journal of public and private perspectives on healthcare, culture, and the environment: an official publication of the Information Resources Management Association, Band 3, Heft 2, S. 43-58
ISSN: 2471-1055
The customer complaint is considered an expression of dissatisfaction against the quality of the product or information associated with them. An effective mechanism for product complaint handling is one of the essential business requirements of the pharmaceutical industry. The customer complaints have the potential to jeopardize the firm's reputation and trigger regulatory action. This study shows that the prevailing complaint handling practices in the pharmaceutical sector follow a random and independent approach without synchronizing the strategy with the gross interest of stakeholders. The study explores the dearth of study for overall mitigation of adverse impacts on business due to patient's risk, impending legal and regulatory actions. The existing system to handle pharmaceutical complaints is handled with a technical perspective, without effective involvement of the distribution personnel. This study has produced a unique pathway to redress pharmaceutical product complaints effectively.

Problems of rural housing in Bihar
In: Social change, Band 35, Heft 4, S. 83-98
ISSN: 0976-3538
This paper addresses the rural housing problem of Bihar. The causes of housing shortage have been identified in the context of rapid population growth, low per capita income, high poverty, unemployment, limited state resources, etc. A suitable strategy and institutional mechanism to implement the objectives of National Housing and Habitat Policy, 1998, may help ameliorate rural housing conditions in the state. This calls for creation of an institution dedicated to rural housing which would facilitate credit, subsidy, technology, formation of self-help groups and support infrastructure required for rural housing.
