W ciągu ostatniego dziesięciolecia nastąpił wyraźny wzrost obecności skrajnej retoryki politycznej w debacie parlamentarnej w Polsce. Jednym z aspektów postępującej radykalizacji języka jest nadużywanie słów o wysokim negatywnym natężeniu emocjonalnym w celu opisania zdarzeń występujących w codziennej polityce, co prowadzi do degradacji ich znaczenia. Jak wskazują badania, brutalizacja języka debaty wywołuje negatywne konsekwencje na poziomie elit politycznych i elektoratu, prowadząc do zmniejszonej efektywności działania parlamentu, zaostrzenia konfliktów między partiami i ich zwolennikami oraz do alienacji politycznej obywateli. W artykule przedstawiam możliwości wykorzystania stenogramów parlamentarnych do analizy przemian dyskursu politycznego, w tym wykorzystane algorytmy przeszukiwania korpusów tekstów oraz analizy ukrytych tematów. Jako przykład wykorzystuję zbiór przemówień sejmowych z lat 1991‒2016 odnoszących się do idei hańby, zdrady, niesławy i skandalu. Opieram się głównie na generatywnym modelu tematycznym, wykorzystującym metodę ukrytej alokacji Dirichleta i jej rozszerzeniu – strukturalny model tematyczny, będących nienadzorowanymi metodami ekstrakcji tematów z dużych korpusów tekstów. Wyniki przeprowadzonych analiz potwierdzają wzrost radykalnego słownictwa w czasie, a także określają charakterystyki jego użytkowników oraz najczęściej występujące konteksty (polityka historyczna, kontrola nad mediami, polityka zagraniczna).

Zgodnie z popularną percepcją zachowań wyborczych jednostki głosują na partie, których program i praktyka polityczna zbliżone są do ich światopoglądu. Badania zachowań wyborczych wskazują jednak, że zbieżność programowa ma nieduże znaczenie zarówno dla decyzji wyborczych, jak i samych sympatii i antypatii partyjnych, zwłaszcza w przypadku osób dysponujących niewielką wiedzą polityczną. W artykule koncentruję się na dwóch kluczowych determinantach zachowań wyborczych: postawach wobec istotnych kwestii politycznych oraz sympatiach i antypatiach partyjnych, analizując zróżnicowanie ich wpływu ze względu na wiedzę polityczną respondentów. W oparciu o dane Polskiego Generalnego Studium Wyborczego 2015 wykazuję, że: 1) ideologiczna przestrzeń rywalizacji w Polsce jest ograniczona, przede wszystkim w zakresie kwestii ekonomicznych, a postawy wobec kwestii politycznych mają ograniczone znaczenie zarówno dla decyzji wyborczych, jak i samych sympatii i antypatii partyjnych; 2) pomimo ograniczonych różnic ideologicznych podziały polityczne na płaszczyźnie emocjonalnej są silne i są dobrymi predyktorami decyzji wyborczych; 3) wiedza polityczna jest czynnikiem silnie moderującym relację między poglądami a sympatiami partyjnymi i zachowaniami wyborczymi; osoby z większą wiedzą polityczną w większym stopniu opierają swoje sympatie i antypatie partyjne na kwestiach programowych.

Over the last decade there has been a clear increase in extreme political rhetoric in the parliamentary debate in Poland. One aspect of the progressive radicalization of the language is overuse of words having a high negative emotional intensity to describe events in everyday politics, which leads to the degradation of their importance. As research shows, brutalization of the language of the debate has negative consequences at the levels of the political elite and the electorate, leading to reduced efficiency of the parliament, the exacerbation of conflicts between parties and among their supporters, and the political alienation of citizens. In this article, I present the possibilities of using the transcripts of parliamentary discourse to analyze the changes of the political discourse, including the algorithms used for searching text corpora and analysis of the latent topics. As an example, I use a set of parliamentary speeches from the years 1991-2016 related to the idea of shame, betrayal, disgrace and scandal. I base my analyses on generative topic modeling employing on the method of latent Dirichlet allocation and its extension—Structural Topic Model, both being unsupervised methods of extracting topics from large text corpora. The results of the analysis confirm the increase in usage of radical vocabulary in time, and also describe the characteristics of its users and the most common contexts the extreme vocabulary tend to appear (identity politics, control over the media, foreign policy). ; W ciągu ostatniego dziesięciolecia nastąpił wyraźny wzrost obecności skrajnej retoryki politycznej w debacie parlamentarnej w Polsce. While the global economic crisis brought no decrease in support of democracy in Poland, its effects turned out to be delayed and indirect. In the pre-crisis survey, a great difference in normative visions of democracy between citizens and MPs, especially concerning economic welfare, has been recorded. Citizens expressed a preference for more redistributive and protective policies while parliamentarians focused mostly on procedural aspects of democracy. Seven years later, we observed a partial convergence of attitudes of these two groups: citizens had lowered their economic expectations, while for MPs economic and redistributive issues became more salient as essential normative characteristics of democracy. However, the extent of this convergence between citizens and political elites differed by political divisions. We argue that differences in post-crisis responsiveness of political elites formed the basis of a major change in Polish politics after 2015.

Russia's attack on Ukraine has acutely affected the experiences of Polish women and men and has translated into a sense of living in constant danger in a society of risk and fear. Young people who have not yet achieved stability and are less socially anchored, are particularly vulnerable to fear, anxiety, economic degradation and a loss of ontological security. In this context, the article uses quantitative and qualitative data from the ULTAGEN project focusing on entry into adulthood in times of crisis to map the personal and geopolitical concerns of young Polish women and men. Data from a representative CAWI survey (N = 2104), conducted in January 2023 among 18–35 year olds, showed that almost a year after the war broke out, the vast majority of them were still anxious about the future. Their concerns were primarily about the cumulative consequences of the war: the economic and energy crises, and deteriorating access to public services and the housing market. The respondents also continued to fear a Russian attack on Poland. The qualitative material in turn, collected using the asynchronous exchange technique in March and April 2022 as part of a qualitative longitudinal study, deepens the above findings with detailed analyses focused on two main axes. First of all, the empirical material shows fear of the political enemy, manifested in fears of the war spilling over, a total war, alongside a cumulative refugee-economic crisis, which the interviewees believed threaten national security. Secondly, at the individual level, fear is closely linked to the vision of a "threatened future", with young people preaching doom and gloom. From a micro-sociological perspective, the narratives illustrate a constant uncertainty and danger. The findings of the mixed-methods research are interpreted through the prism of the sociology of fear and youth studies.

Abstract
This article offers novel insights into the mechanism of abortion stigma and its pervasive impact on attitudes toward abortion. Specifically, it tracks the impact of the restrictive Polish 1993 law, known as the "abortion compromise," on attitudes toward pregnancy terminations over three decades, exploring the role of abortion stigma in the observed shifts. Employing data from representative surveys and in-depth interviews with young women, this study demonstrates how gendered sexuality norms inscribed in the law are responsible for locating abortion in the realm of morality, thus intensifying its stigma. Remarkably, we uncover a unique convergence of "pro-choice" and "pro-life" perspectives in Poland. The growing unanimity of attitudes is attributed to the stigmatization of abortion that surpasses the medical or legal justifications of the 1993 law. Thus, the results crucially inform the strategies needed for the women's rights movement aiming to liberalize the restrictive legislation.

Abstract
Since the democratic transition, Poland-United States relations have been framed by the Polish authorities as a strategic threat-management tool in the securitization process of Poland's geopolitical position, particularly concerning the Russian Federation. We analyse the process of securitization regarding Poland-US relations through latent topic modelling of Polish parliamentary speeches in the years 1991–2017. We demonstrate that the discourse on Polish-US relations is heavily dominated by security topics, narrowly understood as military security. Furthermore, even when economic issues are discussed, they are frequently linked to military operations. Based on Floyd's (2011, 2019) model of the moral rightness of securitization, we argue that the close relationship between securitizing moves (debates on Poland-US relations) and security practices (security events) suggests the basic sincerity of the securitizing actor, while the historical context reflected in the Polish collective memory strongly influences the audience's frame of reference and strengthens the power of the securitizing actor. However, although the case fulfils Floyd's (2019) criteria of morally right securitization, we have shown a historical disparity between the scope of securitizing moves with security practices and the existing level of threat. This demonstrates that the securitizing agent has been abusing securitization by exceeding the 'least harmful option', particularly due to the large asymmetry of power of the participants in the relationship, the securitization process stretched over a long period and the threat severity varying over time.
