ABSTRACT This article takes into consideration eight Spanish essays written after the 2008 crisis in order to describe a way of practicing and performing the essay as a genre. Among this features the rol of new institutions and social collaboration nets stands out as well as a tendency of considering issues in a more global than rather local view. At the same time, the discredit of the nation-state and its cultural practices opened a space for reflection where minority, rural or private concerns gain increasing relevance. However, is in social, economic and politic besseting circumstances such as precariousness, digital culture and feminism that today's essay focuses on.
This article studies the imaginaries of political change available during the Spanish transition to democracy (1973–1982) and their new political usages by the Spanish 15M Occupy movement in the context of the 2008–2014 economic crisis. I argue that protesters are now rediscovering the old symbols used against Franco's dictatorship and adapting them to the new political circumstances, through graffiti, slogans, artistic performances and other ephemeral materials.
; This PH.D. tries to review the field of cultural production linked with the sociopolitical processus of Spanish Transition into Democracy (1968-1984), based on a generation of romantic poets, which work has not been focused by the cultural canon of the periode. According with an inventary and study of this cultural space, those cultural objects are read in conection with the political and cultural time of their authors, considering them as poets but also as part of the Spanish youth of the time. Interpretating their works with other historical and cultural documents, it is posible to fix the continuity of a poetical sphere, a cultural community and a sociological espace by this time, giving in addition the structure of a new historical subject: Spanish Transition youthness. Interpretating their works from the perspective of the poetical and ideological tradition of Modernism, appeared then in Spain, it is posible to defend a relation between identity, cultural practices and historical time, using the teorical cathegories of biopolicy and bioliteracy. At the end, there is a historiografic reflection about the destruction of this generation and the speciphic conditions of modern culture in Spanish History.
