This article documents, using a biographical methodology, those concrete ways of patrimonial use of political power that allowed an important fraction of francoist socioeconomic and political élites last through the end of the Regime and the Transition to democracy. Our analysis focus on the Galician (North West Spain) southern provinces of Ourense and Pontevedra, where we have found evidences of that kind of practices of patronage in the management of the territory and the community resources, in collusion with Spanish government strategies to ensure a successful institutional spread of the ruling party networks (Unión de Centro Democrático – UCD) across the country. ; El presente trabajo documenta a través de una metodología prosopográfica mecanismos concretos de utilización patrimonial del poder político mediante los cuales una parte importante de las élites socioeconómicas del régimen franquista garantizó su continuidad política tras la muerte del dictador, durante los años de la transición a la democracia. El análisis se centra en las provincias gallegas de Ourense y Pontevedra, en las que se documentan prácticas específicas ligadas a la gestión clientelar del territorio y de los recursos públicos en connivencia con estrategias desarrolladas por el Gobierno central destinadas a asegurar una exitosa expansión institucional de las redes de la Unión de Centro Democrático (UCD) en la periferia estatal.

This article examines the relationship between Francoism and the Portuguese Estado Novo in the context of state control of workers' leisure time. The two Iberian Fascist dictatorships reacted to the international political isolation they were experiencing by seeking to strengthen their mutual ties during a period extending from the end of the Second World War until the mid-1950s. In the sphere of leisure, this was accomplished by means of two social tourism programmes: hosting workers from the neighbouring country in state holiday centres, and organizing trips in order to get to know the monuments and culture of the other country. These trips and vacations were used by the Franco Regime and the Estado Novo as a means of political and ideological indoctrination of workers. They were also intended to improve the perception of the national identity among the visitors, thus projecting a certain national image abroad.

The aim of this article is to explain the situation of the Spanish hospital system during the twentieth century and to analyse the reasons why the difficulties that a significant part of the Spanish population, resident in rural areas, had to access hospital services during the Franco dictatorship were perpetuated. The first section uses a conceptual perspective to discuss the repercussions that the new medical significance of the hospital had for the notion of 'rural hospital'. The second section examines the projects for hospital modernisation that appeared before the Spanish Civil War (1936–39) and highlights what impeded the consolidation of these pioneering experiences in the country. The following section analyses the hospital situation in Spain's rural world as well as the profound changes that occurred during the last decades of the dictatorship, just on the threshold of the health reform that was finally implemented in the democratic period.

En este texto nos acercamos a los orígenes, en la década de 1970, de un conflicto productivo que, de manera cíclica, ha tenido una gran incidencia en la sociedad y la opinión pública gallegas: las protestas de los ganaderos ante los bajos precios de compra de su producción lechera por la industria. Analizamos este conflicto desde diferentes puntos de vista: el cambio estructural experimentado por la agricultura gallega en las décadas de 1960 y 1970; la evolución de la política agraria en España entre el final de la dictadura y la democracia; el horizonte de integración de la agricultura española en la Política Agraria Común (PAC) y; de manera destacada, las novedades en el repertorio de la protesta campesina que se pusieron de manifiesto en la denominada "huelga de la leche" (1978). Para ello emplearemos fuentes de naturaleza diversa: impresas, con especial mención a las hemerográficas (prensa generalista y prensa sindical) y orales, entrevistando a diferentes actores que participaron en el conflicto.

The aim of this paper is to study the origins, in the 70s, of a socio - economic conflict that has periodically had a great impact on Galician society and public opinion: the livestock breeder's protests against the low prices that milk industrials paid for their milk. We analyze this conflict from different points of view: the structural change suffered for the Galician agriculture in the 60s and the 70s; the evolution of Spanish agricultural policy between the end of the dictatorship and the beginning of democracy; the time – line of integration of Spanish agriculture into the Agricultural Common Policy (ACP), and, specially, the newness in the set of peasant protest put in action during the so - called "Milk strike" (1978).
