The European Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemical (REACH) is the world's most ambitious initiative governing the use of chemicals not only on their own but in mixtures or articles. REACH assures the supply of safe products that do not present any hazards to end users or if there is a hazard, it must be communicated properly along with risk management plans. Theoretically, REACH compliance is only mandatory for European companies. In fact, REACH could influence company's activities beyond its border through economic interdependence. Outsourced manufacturing is a good example as European buyers play an important role on fostering REACH application in other countries. By taking advantages of low labor cost and favorable tariff reduction from Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) which Vietnam has signed with Europe, Vietnam becomes an attractive outsourcing destination of many European footwear buyers. Since "made in China" is no longer cheap, it could be foreseen that Europeans would soon move their manufacturing to Vietnam which is now maintaining the second position after China. However, there is a risk that Vietnam loses its opportunity due to REACH compliance issues. REACH compliance is not easy and it is much more challenging in developing countries, where gaps in technologies and stringency of standards each country applies are encountered. The objective of this thesis has been to assess the difficulties felt by Vietnamese companies, in particular footwear companies, when faced with the requirements of REACH regulations. To address the compliance situation in Vietnam, an online survey was developed and disseminated to Vietnam footwear suppliers with the support of Vietnam Leather, Footwear and Handbag Association (LEFASO) and Decathlon (a European brand having its manufacturing in Vietnam). The survey has sets of questions that allow the researcher to assess Vietnam footwear supplier's awareness of REACH regulation, particularly, Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs) communication ...

A future housing purchase contract stipulates a predetermined sale price between a home buyer and seller, with the transaction set for a future date. This type of contract offers sellers the advantage of price security and continued property use until the sale, mitigating risks associated with market fluctuations and buyer scarcity. Nevertheless, these contracts also present several challenges, particularly the need for clear, transparent terms and careful legal risk management to safeguard the interests of all parties involved. This article uses the method pf analyzing the written law, the method of analyzing the situation trough the researching on secondary sources to analyze anticipated legal challenges in future housing purchase contracts and reviews relevant Vietnamese legal frameworks. It proposes essential contract terms and preventive measures aimed at minimizing risks and protecting the rights of the parties, focusing particularly on the buyer. These insights are intended to guide stakeholders in crafting more secure and equitable future housing purchase agreements.

Da Nang's urban landscape reveals more than a half century of colonization and French presence on its territory. The buildings carry the imprint of the colonial experience, as they were once considered a symbol of domination, linking Da Nang to the global history of colonization. After years of independence and reconstruction, the public attitude towards French colonial heritage has changed. Despite its roots and historical origins, today, French colonial architecture is engrained into the collective understanding of Da Nang's urban landscape and has shaped the local visual identity of the urban space. More importantly perhaps, this architectural style contributes to the city's connection with cultural tourism, an important tool for economic development. As Da Nang is on a path of constant growth, this paper engages with issues around architectural preservation of built colonial heritage, in terms of both the values of preservation, and the challenges it presents for contemporary urban planning.

Vietnam, in many ways, remains a Confucian nation. The Confucian heritage touches many aspects of people's lives. In this context, homosexuals do not face severe punishments, but face social stigma or public misunderstanding. Same-Sex Marriage is also not accepted because of limited legal support. Therefore, there is a need to study attitudes towards same-sex marriage in Vietnam. The purpose of this article was to validate a Vietnamses version of the Attitudes Toward Same-Sex Marriage Scale (ATSM) designed by Pearl & Galupo (2007) in a Vietnamese population. The sample in this study was 570 students from six universities in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The data collection method used was face-to-face questionnaire. Students completed the Attitudes Toward Same-Sex Marriage Scale and other variables in the questionnaire. The respondent's characteristics also explored through the survey include: gender, what year students are from, religion of the students, what region students are from and their ethinicity. The study found the Vietnamese translation of the ATSM scale both reliable and valid and suitable for research use.
