Timor Oriental: un caso constante de violacion del derecho internacional
In: Revista de relaciones internacionales, Heft 83, S. 51-66
ISSN: 0185-0814
This article analyzes the territorial conflict in East Timor. The author argues that the attitudes & practices adopted by involved states transgress international law, as consecrated ones in UN documents & self-determination. He mentions the genocide caused by this problem & the indifference of the international community, which leads us to think that what is important in interstatal relationships are the interests of the most powerful countries, not the agreements & compromises previously contracted. Finally, he suggests the law as a way to solve conflicts like this. Adapted from the source document.
