Ausgehend von einer Bestimmung der Begriffe Volkstum, Nationalität und Heimatland befaßt sich der Autor zunächst mit der historischen Entwicklung des multinationalen sowjetischen Staates sowie mit der Behandlung der Nationalitätenfrage in der Gründungsphase der UdSSR. Für den Zeitraum 1926-1979 untersuscht der Verfasser sodann die - primär durch das Vordringen der russischen Nationalität in nicht-russische Gebiete charakterisierten - Entwicklungstrends der regionalen Verteilung der sowjetischen Nationalitäten, d.h. der ethnischen Zusammensetzung der Bevölkerungen in den Unionsrepubliken und den autonemen Subregionen (autonome Republiken und Oblasts) sowie abschließend die Redistributionstendenzen der ethnischen Bevölkerungsgruppen innerhalb der Territorien der Nationalitäten, u.a. in einer Fallstudie zur Region Wolga-Ural (1959-70). With a paucity of research addressing cognitively specific features of networked language and conduct, The Social Capital of Entrepreneurial Newcomers explores how entrepreneurial newcomers attune their cognition when interacting with high status and powerful vertical bridges. Largely reflecting communication accommodation perspectives, the author theoretically and empirically examines entrepreneurial newcomers' cognitive 'convergence' and 'divergence' when bridging. Robert Lee is a Senior Lecturer in Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Manchester Metropolitan University, UK, and a member of the Centre for International Business and Innovation (CIBI). He has recently completed a British Academy/Leverhulme funded project as principal investigator, researching subjective wellbeing and innovation.

Dieser Beitrag analysiert den gesellschaftspolitischen Prozess seit dem frühen 18. Jahrhundert, in dessen Verlauf sich die Vorstellung eines als vorzeitig empfundenen Todes wissenschaftlich durchsetzen konnte.
