Purpose – The purpose of this article is to present the development of the profession of real estate manager in the Polish legal system and the path to the current model. Design/methodology/approach – The research focuses on the analysis of Polish legal solutions from before 2013 and after that date. Legislative solutions of other countries were also mentioned for comparison. Findings – Descriptive studies are based on the texts of legal acts and the analysis of the literature. The conducted research includes an assessment of the effects of the reform of legal regulation carried out in 2013, pursuant to which the profession of a manager was deregulated. On this basis, preliminary normative conclusions were formulated as to the achieved results of the change in the law. The article is a review, its aim is to analyze the legal conditions of the activity consisting in real estate management in Poland. Research limitations and implications – the analysis is limited to the regulations of Polish law, European solutions are indicated, for example, only as a background for considerations

Niniejsza praca ma na celu odnalezienie w pedagogice resocjalizacyjnej miejsca dla wykorzystania badań neuronaukowych poprzez odkrycie ich znaczenia w procesie resocjalizacji. Na początku przytoczono kilka rozważań teoretycznych na temat biologii jako podstawy dla funkcji psychicznych i behawioralnych człowieka. Następnie przedstawiono obszary pedagogiki, w których zaczęto w ostatnich latach podkreślać znaczenie badań neuronaukowych. W kolejnej części zwrócono uwagę na dyskusję w literaturze dotyczącą przedmiotu zainteresowania resocjalizacji. Następnie przeanalizowano literaturę oraz neuronaukowe badania empiryczne, w których zauważono pośrednie i bezpośrednie związki między neuronauką a resocjalizacją. W końcu dokonano próby umiejscowienia neurobiologii na pograniczu działów pedagogiki oraz przedstawiono konkluzję na temat użyteczności badań neuronaukowych dla celów poznawczych i terapeutycznych.

Effective water and sewage management is one of the most important enablers of sustainable urban development. In Poland, water and sewage management has been undergoing systematic transformation since the 1990s. This process intensified with Poland's accession to the European Union in 2004. The aim of the work is to analyse and evaluate water and sewage management in cities in Poland in terms of sustainable development. This was made possible by selecting seven variables from which a summative index (SI) was calculated. The analysis revealed a number of positive changes that have occurred in this field. These were mainly: a decrease in water consumption in households and industry, and an increased share of wastewater treated biologically or using enhanced nutrient removal in total wastewater. An increase in SI was found in 98% of the researched cities. The largest improvement in water and sewage management took place in cities of populations below 100,000 and little industry, and in three large cities, namely Warsaw and Szczecin.

The goal of the paper is to evaluate and analyse changes in selective municipal collection, recycling level, and recovery, of waste. The article indicates the Polish legislation currently in force to systematise the organisation of waste management systems. It presents the participation of selective waste collection in the total municipal waste at the voivodeship scale, as well as changes in the number of individually segregated fractions (i.e. categories of waste segregation) of selectively collected waste in Poland. Moreover, the levels of waste recycling and recovery were analysed for the country's ten largest cities, while also showing that the cities implement accepted goals of municipal waste recovery. On the example of Warsaw, the structure of collected waste was discussed and attention was paid to the problem of quality of collected waste, which results in it being sent to sorting facilities.

Abstract

Although there has been much debate and interest in the practices of societal marketing, there is currently no accepted measure of this construct. A measurement of societal marketing validated by Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) suggested this measure was one dimensional and consisted of five items measuring the lobbying of government and the degree of business charity. The factor structure was robust and did not vary across the four counties in the study. The final measure was positively correlated with the Narver and Slater (1990) measure of marketing orientation, industry association and performance. There was thus considerable evidence found for the construct validity of the measurement of societal marketing.

Abstract

866The Polish regulation concerning a limited joint-stock partnership has been in force since the date of entry into force of the Commercial Companies Code (CCC). The CCC divides commercial companies into "partnerships" and "capital companies". Each of those two types of commercial companies is governed by separate rules. The completion of twenty years of Polish CCC in force prompts us to analyse the juridical model adopted by the legislature, according to which limited joint-stock partnership is classified as a partnership. During this period, there have been significant events making the verification of the validity of this model possible, including Poland's accession to the European Union (EU), which has resulted in the need to adapt national regulations to EU law – both in the field of private law (including commercial law) and public law (including tax law). The need to amend the domestic law in connection with the implementation of Directive (EU) 2019/2121 of the European Parliament and of the Council of November 27, 2019 amending Directive (EU) 2017/1132 (as regards cross-border conversions, mergers, and divisions of companies) – is a direct motivation for undertaking research on a Polish limited joint-stock partnership.867

The condition of the environment is one of the most fundamental concerns of cities worldwide, especially when high levels of pollution and environmental destruction exert immense impact on people's quality of life. This paper focuses on Skopje, the capital of Macedonia, which often tops the charts as the world's most polluted city. Despite associated problems such as congestion, ill health, and premature death, Macedonia's scarce resources are instead spent on controversial projects, such as 'Skopje 2014', involving creating a national identity through massive and extremely costly constructions of neo-classical government buildings, museums and monuments. The aim of this paper is to compare the situation of Skopje to environmentally oriented activities conducted in several Polish cities and to discuss the possibility of their implementation in Skopje. Considering the scale and scope of Skopje's environmental problems, the paper offers some priorities for action, including solutions that emphasize institution building, technical input and self-governance. It also highlights a number of economic, ecological, and socio-cultural contradictions involved in the process of achieving sustainable development.

Following the submission of application EFSA‐GMO‐RX‐020 under Regulation (EC) No 1829/2003 from BASF Agricultural Solutions Seed US LLC, the Panel on Genetically Modified Organisms of the EFSA was asked to deliver a scientific risk assessment on the data submitted in the context of the renewal of authorisation application for the herbicide‐tolerant genetically modified soybean A5547‐127, for food and feed uses, excluding cultivation within the European Union. The data received in the context of this renewal application contained post‐market environmental monitoring reports, a systematic search and evaluation of literature, updated bioinformatic analyses and additional documents or studies performed by or on behalf of the applicant. The GMO Panel assessed these data for possible new hazards, modified exposure or new scientific uncertainties identified during the authorisation period and not previously assessed in the context of the original application. The GMO Panel concludes that there is no evidence in renewal application EFSA‐GMO‐RX‐020 for new hazards, modified exposure or scientific uncertainties that would change the conclusions of the original risk assessment on soybean A5547‐127.
