After his assumption to the President of Argentina, Mauricio Macri quickly adopted a series of measures of economic, social and diplomatic reform, showing his different concept and model of governance from previous governments. Affected by this, the bilateral relations between China and Argentina have undergone some notable changes. This article analyzes the development of Sino-Argentine relations in the last two years by dividing it into four phases, making a diagnosis of these changes, and presenting opportunities and challenges that face the relations of both countries. This article argues that the development of the economic and trade relations between China and Argentina has entered a new historical stage and there will be more possibilities for further devel-opment of bilateral cooperation in the future. The diversified cooperation is an indispensable way for the two countries to continue to foster bilateral relations, but this requires detailed study and constant innovation in terms of contents, models and mechanisms. ; Después de asumir la presidencia de la Argentina, Mauricio Macri adoptó rápidamente una serie de medidas de reforma económica, social y diplomática, mostrando un modelo diferente de gobernanza en referencia a los gobiernos anteriores. PurposeThe purpose of this study is to provide evidence on the impact of network flexibility and its ambidextrous influence on a firm's exploratory and exploitative partnership selection.Design/methodology/approachThe authors develop our hypotheses based on the literature of network flexibility and draw on a sample of publicly listed firms in Taiwan semiconductor and optoelectronics industries. The authors collect our data from survey questionnaires and archival sources and examine our hypotheses by using the generalized linear model (GLM) approach.FindingsThe authors' empirical findings show that configuration flexibility has a greater influence on exploratory partnerships, while manufacturing flexibility has a greater impact on exploitative partnerships. In addition, when firms are ambidextrous (i.e. have both types of flexibility), they are able to simultaneously obtain both exploratory and exploitative partnerships. The authors' findings indicate that balancing network flexibility is critical when firms execute ambidextrous alliance strategies.Research limitations/implicationsThe authors' use of survey data to measure network flexibility may limit our observations related to network evolution. In addition, the authors' use of public annual reports to capture firm partnerships may cause us to ignore informal relationships between partners.Practical implicationsThe authors' empirical findings suggest that the types of partnerships firms develop depend on which types of flexibility they possess. The results further suggest that decision makers have to find a way to develop a balanced strategy between network configuration and manufacturing flexibility when they would like to develop an ambidextrous alliance strategy.Originality/valueThe authors' study advances the understanding in the literature on supply chain flexibility and its ambidexterity by connecting network flexibility and ambidextrous alliance strategy. The authors offer a guide to supply chain managers in the area of network design.

AbstractUpon initiating school, immigrant children begin to lose much of their heritage language (HL) abilities, resulting in the erosion of a common shared language with their parents. Although communication is fundamental to positive parent–child relationships, research on the effects of navigating two languages is missing from most family theories regarding immigrant populations. This scoping review provides a comprehensive overview of the literatures from family science, child development, communication, and applied linguistics regarding how immigrant families navigate the adoption of a host country's language and the maintenance of their HL, and how this process impacts parent–child relationships. Results indicate that (a) the literature is relatively small and underdeveloped; (b) there is a limiting focus on individual language proficiency rather than a dyadic or familial communicative process; and (c) child HL proficiency is strongly correlated with healthier parent–child relationships and child outcomes. Limitations and future directions are discussed.
