This book explores the emergent relationship between food and family in contemporary China through an empirical case study of Guangzhou, a typical city, to understand the texture of everyday life in the new consumerist society. The primary focus of this book is on the family dynamics of middle-income households in Guangzhou, where everyday food practices, including growing food, shopping, storing, cooking, feeding, and eating, play a pivotal role. The book aims to conduct a comprehensive and integrated analysis of themes such as material and emotional domestic cultures, family relationships, and social connections between the domestic and the public, based on a discussion of family food practices. These topics will not only offer academic readers a full understanding of the most innovative recent critical engagements with urban Chinese families but also provide more general readers with a broader view of food consumption patterns within the scope of domestic and family issues. This book will be of interest to sociologists, anthropologists, and human geographers as well as post graduate students who are interested in food studies and Chinese studies.

Abstract
Compared with the traditional diplomacy based on the behavior of national leaders and professional diplomats, non-traditional diplomacy relies on more diverse actors such as political officials, well-known scholars, academic institutions, business elites, ethnic groups, and media organizations to carry out strategic communication, policy interpretation, agenda setting and other practices with the people of other countries, so as to achieve the purpose of guiding public opinion and influencing government decision-making. During the development of relations between China and Arab countries, non-traditional diplomatic practices carried out in the form of government public relations, international communication, people-to-people exchanges, cultural and educational exchanges, which has effectively promoted policy communication, people-to-people and conceptual exchanges between China and Arab states. With the continuous deepening of the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, non-traditional diplomacy will play a positive role in enhancing political trust, promoting economic and trade benefits, and fostering mutual appreciation of civilization, to expand the practical path, innovate the institutional mechanism and consolidate the foundation of public opinion for the construction of China-Arab community with a shared future.

Using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) approach, this article investigates 85 articles on economic development collaboration in public administration research, published between 1990 and 2022. Economic development collaboration is the process of interaction among multiple economic development organizations in order to tackle economic development problems that cannot be resolved by single organizations. This systematic review demonstrates seven key aspects of economic development collaboration studies: (1) research questions, (2) collaboration types, (3) empirical designs and methods, (4) antecedents of economic development collaboration, (5) mechanisms of economic collaboration, (6) outcomes of economic development collaboration, and (7) research limitations. Based on these results, this article identifies strengths and weaknesses in economic development collaboration research and concludes with a future research agenda.

This research examined the relationships between motivation, support, and intercultural communicative competence (ICC) among students involved in a university project in Malaysia, called Crossroads of Culture. We evaluated the impact on ICC of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation types,
and of autonomy, competence, and relatedness support. Data collected via a questionnaire from a diverse group of 273 participants were processed using descriptive and correlation analysis. The findings underscore that in Malaysia's multilingual society, students participating in intercultural
communicative activities had higher intrinsic than extrinsic motivation. Furthermore, extrinsic motivators, such as the desire to improve language skills, obtain credits or certificates, or achieve career benefits, did not exhibit a significant correlation with ICC. Additionally, the availability
of mentor support and the establishment of meaningful relationships among participants were identified as pivotal elements in molding their levels of satisfaction, which profoundly impacted their ICC. Implications of the findings are discussed.
